5 Benefits of Chia Seeds to Breastfeeding Moms
  • Breastfeeding is essential to your newborn, and to provide your child with the best nutrition, you need to be in the best of health, too, mom! Aside from including fruits and vegetables in your diet, did you know that there are certain foods that are packed with nutrients and are considered as super foods for breastfeeding moms? 

    Chia seeds, for instance, are known as a nutritional powerhouse. They contain high amounts of nutrients such as protein, calcium, and fatty acids.

    How chia seeds benefit you and your baby

    This organic seed is an excellent source of nutrients for lactating mothers and is known to boost milk production. Since it is a natural plant food, it is safe even for breastfeeding moms.

    In the old times, people consumed chia seeds for energy, especially before going on long trips and during the war. As a breastfeeding mom, you constantly need energy, and including chia seeds in your meals could improve your stamina.

    Adding chia seeds in your meals does not change the taste of your food or drink. However, you should remember that super foods do not replace a balanced diet. Of course, if you notice any allergic reactions to seeds or nuts, discontinue use.
