Dad-to-be Lincoln "Cong TV" Velasquez has set the bar high for dads-to-be in his latest vlog entitled 'PAASAFORTE.'

The vlog, which was posted on May 21, has over 4 million views and counting. The YouTube creator has been receiving praises from netizens for his gesture towards his pregnant girlfriend, Viy Cortez.

In the vlog, Cong TV was preparing himself to go to a much-awaited Vietnam trip with the rest of the Team Payaman. He had hesitations, especially Viy is currently pregnant with their first child whom they fondly call Kidlat.

He said the vlog would prove that nothing is impossible. So he sought permission from his girlfriend. To his surprise, Viy immediately approved. "Papayagan naman kita eh."

What Cong TV didn't know was that Viy was confident because she knows that his passport is missing.

 

 

Cong TV then did everything to find his passport, only to find out from his staff that it is due for renewal.

He went to the Department of Foreign Affairs, without setting an appointment and with incomplete requirements, pushing his luck if he can get in through his popularity or number of subscribers.

Defeated, Cong TV gave it up. They were in a monthsary dinner when Viy was teasing him what time he would like to be dropped to the airport.

Cong TV asked Viy if he would allow him to go if he has a passport. Viy immediately said yes.

Cong TV then showed her his passport, and said it was his mom who found it at home. He even said, "Shoutout sa mga nanay diyan, sila talaga nakakahanap sa mga bagay na di na natin kaya hanapin."

 

 

At this point, Viy didn't want Cong TV to go. But the YouTuber insisted and headed to the airport the next day.

Upon boarding, Cong TV decided to leave the rest of the Team Payaman, saying they can go on without him and just keep him updated.

 

 

"Bigla akong kinabahan eh. Di ako mapakali," said Cong, and called his driver to pick him up. 

He then showed up in Viy's room. “Diba sabi ko kanina ito ang storya na nagpapakita na lahat, posible. Akalain mo yun, posible pa lang kalimutan na lahat ng mga masasarap na bagay. Gustong gusto ko sana sumama tsaka maglakbay pero tsaka na lang siguro, pag kasama ko na kayong dalawa," Cong TV narrated while touching Viy's baby bump.

Viy's pregnancy came just weeks after her gall-bladder removal surgery in mid-November 2021, and a year after her miscarriage sometime in December 2020. They first announced their pregnancy in December 2021.

Did Cong TV made the right decision?

As a first-time mom and also a fan of the Team Payaman, I got goosebumps while watching the vlog. Okay, I got teary eyed. My husband and I enjoy watching Cong TV vlogs as an instant mood booster, but this vlog melted my mommy and wife heart. 

Is Cong TV's decision the best for everyone? Clearly, we know that for Cong TV and his Viy, it is.

A 2013 study shows, that it is also the best decision for their baby Kidlat. Amina Alio and her team found that the father's involvement during pregnancy is very important, “The role of a man during pregnancy is to be present, to support, to understand, to be patient, and to have sympathy for the woman carrying his child.”

"Paternal involvement is as crucial prenatally as it has been shown to be postnatally for infants," the study concludes. "Fathers are to be accessible and engaged during the pregnancy and begin to demonstrate responsibility towards the coming child by helping the mother."

A father's role in pregnancy

1. Keep your home free from smoking and stress.

Fulfilling pregnancy cravings is just one of the many ways a father can show his involvement, and it is highly appreciated by moms.

Mom-to-be Viy had her fair share of weird pregnancy cravings. In one of Cong TV's vlogs, Viy asked her husband to bring home some takeout food from a baptism ceremony of a friend's child. To which Cong TV obliged, and made Viy really happy.

3. Be extra-involved in your wife's pregnancy.

One way to do this is to be informed about pregnancy, breastfeeding, postpartum care, and other topics that would be helpful once the baby is out.

Dads are encouraged to join support groups, like the Smart Parenting Village, so they can ask questions about parenthood to their fellow parents without the fear of being judged.
