Kris Bernal announced today, March 3, 2023, that she and her husband of one-and-a-half years Perry Choi are expecting their first child.
The actress made broke the news in a series of Instagram posts using movie poster-like photos that are loaded with humorous images and blurbs.
"WE ARE PREGNANT!" Kris captioned her first post. "It happened - we weren’t really 'trying' but we were blessed with pregnancy!"
She went on backtracking to the time she found out she was heavy with child: "I can still remember I’ve felt a rush of different emotions when the test showed two lines. I already had suspicion weeks prior to finding out the good news but I was able to confirm it when something happened."
Kris's next post indicated August 2023 as the time the baby would arrive. She also shared having some pregnancy symptoms: "So, this is what morning sickness feels like. I’ve been trying to mimic or portray this kind of feeling in some of my tv roles/scenes! And, it was waaaaay different!! Bad acting, KB! Lol!"
She added, "I haven’t experienced anything like this before and I feel like a stranger in my own body. Is it really like this momSHEs? It’s a miracle that I was able to keep up appearances at work and with friends without anyone knowing what was going on! Good acting, KB!"
She also confessed that going through her first trimester was "no joke!"
Lastly, Kris made an appreciation post for "the soon-to-be DAD." She said, "I just want to shift the spotlight to Perry, who has been very hands on in taking care of me. He put up with all my crazy mood swings, reminds me of the dos and don’ts of my doctor, makes sure I take my medicines on time, and the list goes on!"
She then restrained herself, "Tama na!! Emotional ako ngayon! Naiiyak ako just thinking about it!" But she managed to continue honoring her husband, who's a chef and restaurateur: "Perry, you have what it takes to welcome parenthood! You’ll def nail this whole dad thing!"
Kris and Perry got married on September 25, 2021 at the St. Alphonsus de Liguori Church in Magallanes Village, Makati City. They dated for four years before they got engaged on February 6, 2020.
