Your Pregnancy Test May Show A Faint Positive For These 5 ReasonsFirst off, check that the pregnancy kit is not expired.by Lei Dimarucut-Sison .
Imagine this: your period is delayed. You’ve been feeling a little off lately. Your breasts feel tender, and you don’t know whether it’s because your period is coming or because you’re on the family way. To be sure, you take a pregnancy test, but rather than helping you figure out what’s happening with your body, you get a faint positive result (Thanks a lot!).
A faint positive is when, instead of getting two clear lines to indicate pregnancy (positive), you get one clear line and a barely-there second line.
First, one must understand how a pregnancy test works. The kit detects the presence of hCG, or human chorionic gonadotropin, in your urine. hCG is a hormone your body produces after a fertilized egg attaches to the uterus, otherwise known as implantation. The cells that produce the hCG eventually form the placenta.

Reasons your pregnancy kit would show a faint positive

If this is the case, chances are your body still has traces of hCG from your previous pregnancy. It may take a while before your hormone levels return to normal.CONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
