Bea Benedicto and Jech Tiu’s Preemie Baby Bailey is Finally Home

Little Bailey baby is home!

In case you missed it, influencer couple Bea Benedicto and Jech Tiu have finally brought their first daughter, Bailey, home after almost two months in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Jech announced the happy event in an Instagram video.

“Sunduin na natin si Bailey? Tara!” Jech began in the video, as he shared his sneakers of the day—the same pair he wore when Bea gave birth. He then showed a few snippets of their experience with Bailey in the NICU, saying:

“Our Bailey bug went straight to the NICU after coming out at 31 weeks. It’s been a tough almost two months of going back and forth to the hospital and not having the baby with you. But wala naman magagawa.”

“So we started with KMC [kangaroo mother care], then after a while tinanggal yung oxygen at feeding tubes. Tapos pinalitan ng OGT [orogastric tube], then NGT [nasogastric tube].”

He went on to share that shortly after, Bailey was able to cup feed: “Pero kahit naka-NGT pa siya, gusto na niya mag-latch. So yun rin ang tingin ko nakatulong sa progress niya, and the NICU and lactation nurses were very helpful sa breastfeeding process. Eventually naging cup feeding siya.”

Jech also shared a glimpse of the things they had to learn and the tests they had to pass in the NICU to safely take care of a premie baby at home, including baby CPR. “Sa wakas, we were allowed to bring her home after passing a bunch of tests including CPR tsaka yung car seat.”

He ended the video with a shot of them in the car and then at home, saying, “I honestly think this is the slowest I’ve ever driven, but what a journey it’s been so far. Thanks to everyone for their support. We finally, finally have her home and our sleepless life has now begun.”

In an Instagram post where Bea shared photos of Bailey at home, Jech also revealed how they found out they could finally bring her home. In a reply to a commenter, he said their doctor called while he was driving to the hospital, saying, “‘Ano daddy, ready ka na ba?’ Sabi ko saan? Sabi ni doc, ‘Uwi mo na!’”

The new parents have been open about their pregnancy and NICU experience through their social media posts.

During the holiday season, Bea shared a photo of the family celebrating Christmas with Bailey in the NICU. In the caption, she wrote, “Never thought we'd be spending Christmas at the NICU when 2025 started. But, honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.”

Previously, the couple shared that when Bea went in for a routine 31-week checkup, doctors detected heartbeat decelerations and found that Bailey had a triple cord coil. This prompted Bea’s admission to the hospital for monitoring. The couple initially thought they still had time, but just as Jech was about to leave to get supplies, he was called back for the delivery.

Bailey was born via cesarean section, with Jech himself cutting the cord.

Jech admitted that it was an emotional journey, especially when Bea first saw Bailey in the NICU. He shared, “We can’t help but wonder if we did something wrong, or if we didn’t do enough, or just basically why our bug had to be in the NICU.”

“This was not the pregnancy or birth experience we planned.”

Despite everything, the couple remained hopeful. In one of the final slides of their birth story post, Jech wrote, “But at least the triple cord coil was discovered, the heartbeat decelerations were detected, our doctors were on top of everything, and most important, our Bailey bug was delivered safely and she is now recovering in the NICU.”

The couple first revealed their pregnancy in September last year with a cute, very on-brand video featuring tiny baby sneakers. The announcement came after they shared that they had gone through eight failed sessions of artificial insemination in 2024.

And now, in 2026, the couple is finally home with their small yet mighty preemie warrior, Bailey bug. Congratulations, Jech and Bea!
