  • No matter how difficult her second pregnancy was, Camille Prats chooses to treasure the experience.

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) caught up with the Kapuso mom at the launch of the SM Green Bag's Limited Edition last November 22, at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

The 32-year-old mom initially wanted to have a normal delivery, but had no choice but to go for Cesarean section to avoid complications.

Camille narrated, "Actually, I was really hoping for a normal delivery because that's also how I had Nathan...

"Sabi nga nung doctor ko, I was in a really great form, so she doesn't see any reason na hindi mano-normal.

    "Mas madali kasi, recovery-wise."

However, she found out that Baby Nala had wider shoulders than usual.

According to ShoulderDystociaInfo.com, this happens "when, after delivery of the fetal head, the baby's anterior shoulder gets stuck behind the mother's pubic bone—or, occasionally, the baby’s posterior shoulder impinges on the mother’s sacrum."

The Kapuso talent learned about it during her pregnancy check-up last September 21.

She recalled, "They noticed na malaki si baby. Her torso was 40 weeks old [in size] and every thing else is 37 weeks kasi 37 weeks pa lang talaga ako nun.

"So when the doctor checked, she had me check my sugar and it was a little higher than normal.

"So come Friday, I had to go back to the hospital to be monitored kasi hindi pala maganda na tumataas ang sugar ng buntis.

"Kasi it could lead to a death of a baby, so no-no pala talaga yun."

Camille continued, "Come Friday, nakita nila na medyo ganun pa rin 'tapos the baby is big.

"If we wait for normal delivery, she might grow bigger at hindi na siya kumasya.

"So 'pag di na siya kumasya, the risk is shoulder dystocia.

"Hindi na kakasya yung shoulder niya so they're gonna have to maneuver it, and the risk is that it would break her bones.

"So siyempre, no-no! Sabi ko, 'Let's just do what we have to do.'

"Kasi I just wanna make sure, more than anything else, that my baby is safe."

She gave birth to her daughter on September 22.

The Kapuso star added, "So we scheduled the delivery come Friday. We welcomed her ng 8:36 p.m. via C-section ng Friday night."

Camille is grateful Baby Nala was born healthy.

She noted, "Si Nala talaga, she came out nang bonggang-bongga kasi yung ngawa niya talagang umaalingawngaw sa delivery room.

"Imposibleng hindi ka magigising so yung arrival niya talagang, 'I'm here!' Ganun talaga!

"So it was really an overwhelming experience, iba talaga yung joy na dala niya."
