Moms’ Honest Reviews On Lucky Me! Milky Me Will Make You Crave For Sopas

What some parents realized during the Covid-19 pandemic is that, time spent with family is time well spent.

That's why, if there's a way that parents could spend more time with their children, and do the things that they are passionate about, then, by all means, take it!

Some parents are returning to office, and others are still staying home. Nevertheless, one thing's for sure: Kids get hungry round the clock, and moms are always on the lookout for healthy and easy to prepare snacks!

Instant noodles with milk, anyone?

Household brand Lucky Me! wanted to know if their new Milky Me line deserves the Smart Parenting Mom Approved seal. So we put their products to the test!

We sent packs of Lucky Me! Milky Corn and Milky Chicken noodles to 20 moms, for them to try at home with their kids. Then, we gathered them in a Zoom call to discuss what they love and like about the new product.

The moms, which included members of the Smart Parenting Mom Squad, shared their insights about the new Lucky Me! Milky Me line. Spoiler alert: They loved it!

A healthy mix of moms

Our team was able to gather moms whose kids' ages range from one to 22. Most of them are working moms and content creators who spend most of their time at work.

Some of them are stay-at-home moms, who shared that chores like cooking and cleaning keep them busy.

What's in store for the moms?

While all 20 moms know the Lucky Me! brand, only one was able to try the Lucky Me! Milky Me. The rest didn't know about it, and the road test was their first time to try it. 

The Lucky Me! Milky Line promises these features and benefits, but let's see what the moms would say about it:

What the moms have to say:

Packaging

Moms loved the color and fun design of Lucky Me! Milky Me because it catches the eye, and makes it easy to spot in groceries. Joselle Ona, who is a member of the SP Mom Squad and is an artsy mama of two said, "the packaging actually got me excited to try it!"

Flavor

Lucky Me! Milky Me comes in two flavors: Milky Chicken and Milky Corn.

Most of them agreed that their households favored the Milky Chicken flavor, especially the kids. They said it resembles the comfort food "sopas" because of its taste and feel.

Mommy Dang Cenir, a mom of two and also a member of the SP Mom Squad, said her first impression on the new product was that it would lack the chicken flavor. In the end, her verdict was, "Easy and yummy merienda snack for the whole family!"

Cheska Halili, a full-time mom of a 6yo, said her child liked the Milky Corn, and even asked for extra rice, "Mahilig ang anak ko sa corn, so nung nakita niya, na-excite siya sa mga corn bits at na-excite kainin. Nabitin siya sa noodles kasi naghati kami."

Moms shared that the smell of the noodles while being cooked was enough to excite their kids. Reya Reyes Rodolfo, a banker and mom of two said, "I like the smell of [the] corn [flavor]. Nung niluluto na siya, lalo siyang nakaka-entice. We like corn din kasi sa mga dishes. Nung maluluto na, sobrang excited na sila."

At first, Reya thought milk + noodles would be a weird combination, but after trying the product, she said she will serve Lucky Me! Milky Me to her kids for breakfast.

Eldz Mortega gave a tip, "Naapektuhan yung taste when we added more water. Hindi na siya ganun ka milky. But if you follow the proportions sa instructions, mas better siya. Tinimpla ko na lang yung alat."

Texture

In terms of texture, Lucky Me! Milky Me exceed the expectations of Kathy Alcala, an SP Mom Squad member, mompreneur, and mom of two. She said she liked the noodles because "hindi madaling ma-soggy kahit you cook it past the time sa instructions." Joselle, on the other hand, wanted the noodles to be a little bit thicker.

Cooking experience

Imee Ramos, a vlogger and mom of three girls, shared, "Nagnu-noodles kami pag tamad na kami magluto. May mga days na ang ulam fried chicken, perfect siya sa Lucky Me! noodles. So ganun yung ginawa ko last time. Kahit mainit o malamig ang panahon, kapag nagustuhan namin, prepare namin siya with Spam o sausage. Perfect match siya dun."

She said she loves the new Lucky Me! variant, and even gave tips to moms who will try it. "Mabilis lang siyang lutuin. Masarap pala siya pag hindi masyadong masabaw."

The verdict

Among the moms who gave Lucky Me! Milky Me a perfect 10 was Wel Padron, a homemaker and mom of 3. She loves the product, enjoyed both chicken and corn flavors, and said she absolutely needs it because she's usually busy attending to her kids.

The other moms said, they are always wary of anything "instant" and "processed." They will buy it, but they will consume it in moderation.

Sam Ocampo, a vlogger and mom of a 4yo said, "Kudos na lang to Lucky Me! for putting it in the packaging to eat in moderation." Since Lucky Me! Milky Me is an instant food, the moms were skeptical about the product claims.

Joselle shared that while she stopped patronizing instant food, she craves for noodles once in a while. "Ang homey kasi ng feeling ng may noodles sa bahay. Kapag may sakit ka, naghahanap ka ng sabaw or something comforting. May good memories kasi ako ng noodles."

Overall, these moms rated the Lucky Me! Milky Me line 4.6 out of 5, giving it the Smart Parenting Mom Approved Seal!
