Pampadali Ng Gawaing Bahay! 6 Affordable, Mom-Approved Handheld Vacuums

My parents weren’t believers of vacuum cleaners — my dad always said a walis will be able to clean the house more thoroughly. But after I bought my corded handheld vacuum cleaner, he began to see the light (although as a result, he now always asks me to clean his room, LOL).

Handheld vacuum cleaners are becoming more popular these days because they make cleaning quick and easy. It’s also effective in keeping dust at bay, which can help reduce respiratory symptoms like cough, colds, and allergies.

Mom-recommended handheld vacuum cleaners

On our parenting community, Smart Parenting Village, a mom asked for recommendations for “a matibay na vacuum cleaner pero hindi masyadong mahal. Gusto ko na ng vacuum!”

Of course, her fellow mothers came to the rescue. Apparently, it’s a must when you have little kids in the house. “Naghahanap din ako kasi ‘pag nagwawalis ka, may makikiwalis din tapos dadaan-daanan pa ‘yung winawalis mo,” one member pointed out.

Another said getting a vacuum cleaner made chores so much easier. She was even inspired to clean every day! Best of all, even her hubby now volunteers to vacuum the house.

Here are five affordable handheld vacuum cleaners that moms love. (Click the photo to purchase online!)

Big Brute

For a thousand bucks you can already own a durable vacuum cleaner! One mom has been using hers for four months and “it’s still working perfectly.”

Although it does not come with attachments, the 3-in-1 design and swivel steering makes it easy to maneuver. It also claims to “clean better than regular HEPA filters” using its cyclone filtration system. The filter inside the vacuum is washable, too!

Deerma DX115C

A lot of moms recommended different models from this China brand. Apart from being affordable, its suction and motor are quite powerful, too.

The DX115C has a 1.2-liter dust box capacity and comes with three removable heads: a floor brush, a flat brush for crevices, and a round brush for curtains, clothing, and more. It also has a HEPA filter to prevent the spread of dust and bacteria.

The vacuum is for wet and dry dual use. It’s also lightweight so it’s easy to move about while cleaning!

Deerma DX700

From a handheld vacuum, this model can easily transform into a longer stick vacuum so “hindi ngawit” when you’re cleaning the mattress, for example. It has a strong suction and three filters for a more efficient cleaning: the first filters air from dust, the second prevents dust and reduces noise, and the third (HEPA) can purify the air.
The cotton filter is washable and can be cleaned repeatedly. Likewise, the dust box is detachable so you can easily pour the dust into the garbage bin.

The items above are all corded but if you’re looking for an affordable wireless vacuum cleaner, the VC25 is the way to go. It has a strong suction with a unique floor brush that can suck dirt from floors and carpets effectively.

It also comes with different attachments for all-around cleaning. The triangular brush can remove hair and dust from fabric and plush toys, the nozzle brush is perfect for devices, and the flat nozzle can go deep into crevices.

The dust bin is easy to clean, too! The only caveat is that you can only use it for a maximum of 30 minutes for every charge, since it is wireless.
