"Let's go straight to it... Mel is pregnant!"
Actor Rocco Nacino and athlete Melissa Gohing were ecstatic to share the news in the first episode of their brand-new YouTube channel, Life With The Nacinos.
The couple, who got married in January 2021, revealed that they had difficulties getting pregnant.
"We've been praying for this for months kasi nagkaroon ako ng PCOS, which is polycystic ovarian syndrome, which means hindi ako nagiging fertile. Matagal na kaming nagtatry, for many months, pero di kami nakakabuo, said Melissa, who is currently in her second trimester.
She thanked her doctor for helping them conceive, and encouraged other women with PCOS to consult with their OB-Gyn on what their options are.
Melissa's pregnancy symptoms
Melissa went on sharing how she found out that she could be pregnant this time.
"Unang una, nahihilo ako, konting galaw lang nahihilo. Naging matakaw ako. I've been craving for food. Ang dami kong kinakain. Yung pang-amoy ko parang nagchachange na rin so sabi ko, maybe this is it."

She said she has been testing, but she had doubts because she kept seeing a faint line.
"I've been testing, nag-start ako ng 4th day before my period and merong faint line."
Next day, 3rd day, meron. 2nd day, 1 day before, pa-dark ng pa-dark na."
Mel said she has been using ordinary test kits to check. Rocco said, "Pero she had that final super accurate, medyo pricey siya, nasa P1000. Mabibili niyo online. We were waiting for that day, eh nasa taping ako buti nalang lahat ng artista nasa location, di nila ako maririnig. We went for that moment na machecheck."
They then showed a video clip of their videocall, where Melissa used a digital pregnancy test real-time.
After a few minutes, the test showed the word "Pregnant" and the couple started crying tears of joy.
Rocco explains, "Medyo takot ako kasi a few months before di kami nakakabuo so to see the word pregnant, happiness!"

Pregnancy cravings
Melissa adds, "It's different pag buntis na, parang mas nag-grow kami as a couple din, mas na-feel mo yung love ng husband."
And this love was manifested when Rocco shared that Melissa has been having weird pregnancy cravings.
"Kanina lang gutom siya, nagmotor ako para bumili ng pagkain. Bumili ako ng extra," Rocco shares.
He said Melissa used to love seafood, but now hates even the smell of it.
"Dati dalawang crabs kaya niya, anim na kanin."
He adds, "Gusto niya ngayon sabaw."
'Future athlete!'
Both Melissa and Rocco are athletes, so they are looking forward that their 'baby N' will also love sports. Melissa is a volleyball player, while Rocco is a jiujitsu practitioner.
In the end, the couple asked their followers for tips as soon-to-be parents.
"Sana matulungan niyo kami with tips and advice dahil first-time parents kami. We're gonna be a family!"
