How to Choose the Most Flattering Lipstick Shade for Your Skin Tone
There is a right shade of nude, pink, or red for you.by Kitty Elicay .

Lipsticks are my guilty pleasures because it’s the easiest thing to shop for — I don’t even try it on before making a purchase. But here’s a confession: I have a lot of forgotten tubes on my dresser because after excitedly swiping it on and looking at the mirror, I realize the color doesn’t suit me. At all.
If this has happened to you, you might automatically restrict yourself from buying certain colors. You’ll think, “Oh, red doesn’t look good on me,” or “Nude shades just make me look sick.” The thing is there’s a shade of red or nude that works for you — maybe you’re just trying on a hue that doesn’t flatter your skin tone. What other parents are reading
How to determine your skin tone
The best way to know the colors that match your skin is by knowing your undertone: warm, cool, and neutral. You can easily check your undertone by looking at your veins. If they’re blue, you have a cool undertone. If it looks green, you have a warm undertone. If they look like both, congratulations, you’re a neutral — you can practically wear any shade.
If you’ve looked at your veins (the best spot to check is the inside of your wrist) but still have a hard time telling, grab your favorite pieces of jewelry. If you think you look better in gold, then you are warm-toned. If you look great in silver, you are cool-toned.
Women with cool undertones tend to have paler, fairer skin, while warm-toned gals have golden, olive, or morena skin.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOWCONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended VideosWhat other parents are reading

Lip shades for warm tones
If you want neutral shades, go for warm, sandy hues or those that have peach undertones. If you have darker skin, you’ll look great in dark chocolate nudes. For colors, you’ll look great in orange, coral, and plum! For reds, choose a brick red or rich wine shade.
