Regine Velasquez Has Been Wearing This Pair of Shoes for More Than 20 Years!

Regine Velasquez really loves shoes. She calls herself a shoe “whore” and even has an Instagram account where she documents her “shoefies” for her fans to see.

But just how massive is the Songbird’s shoe collection? To give you an idea, Regine offered a peek of her favorite shoes in her first ever YouTube “vlang” (“video lang,” as her husband Ogie Alcasid calls it) when she gave a tour of her and Ogie’s spacious walk-in closet.

In the video, Regine recalls starting her shoe collection in the early '90s when she released an Asian album and went on a tour in Hong Kong. “It started there kasi sa Hong Kong ko nakikita iyong mga branded na sapatos,” she shares. “And in fairness dun sa mga mamahaling sapatos, matibay talaga. Pero minsan, masakit lang talaga sa paa.”

One of her favorite luxury brands is Louis Vuitton. And although she had a not-so-pleasant experience during one of her shopping trips (read all about it here) almost two decades ago, it has not stopped the Songbird from collecting and buying limited edition shoes from the brand.

In fact, one of Regine’s most favorite pairs is this denim monogram espadrille mules, which she bought in 1996. “Sa sobrang fan ako ng Louis Vuitton, I’ve had this for 23 years. ‘Yung mga fans na kilala ako, kilalang-kilala nila ito ‘cause I used to always wear this,” she says.

She adds, “Wherever I go, I would wear this. Sobrang nasira na ‘to. Hindi na totoo ‘yung sole niya, iba na. Kasi pinaayos ko na siya.”

This was not the first time that she showed off this particular pair. In 2017, Regine already talked about the monogram mules in her cover shoot with Preview.ph. “I just so love it,” she said then. “It’s my favorite shoe.”
