"And just like that, our Deia Amihan is 1 year old! Deia - we treasure every moment with you so dearly. You have exceeded our expectations in growing up so joyful, smart, and strong. Thank you for reminding us about what life is all about. We are so excited for more playtime with you!" Iza wrote.

Iza plans to hold another celebration in February, which will be dedicated to their chosen charity, ABS-CBN reports. "It's more of giving back yung theme ko, kasi talaga dahil she's been such a blessing to us," Iza said on Magandang Buhay episode, which aired on January 22.
Deia recently got baptized, together with her cousin, Sadie Harlow, who is the daughter of actress Bianca King and Ralph Wintle.
Iza first soft-launched her daughter and revealed her name when Deia was two months old last March. Deia's second name was from Iza's famous Encantadia character from 2005. Iza then finally shared photos of her daughter when she turned three months old.
Iza and Ben, who tied the knot on December 18, 2018, first announced their pregnancy during Iza's 40th birthday in August 2022. At their baby shower organized by her friends, Ben revealed that they "created" Deia on May 9, 2022, during election day. She admitted in 2019 that one of the reasons why she was delaying motherhood was her mother, Mary Ann Ussher's illness. She also had her eggs frozen in the same year.
She vowed to take lots of photos with Deia in a letter she wrote for her mom on her death anniversary, where she also hinted that she's having a baby girl.
Recently, Iza also penned a letter for her father, Lito Calzado. She expressed how Deia's expressions mirror her father in many ways, "To see this, to feel my father’s energy through my daughter, is such a blessing."
Raising Deia
Iza has been openly sharing about the struggles of being a first-time mother. In a recent interview with Magandang Buhay, she opened up about the importance of having a support system, especially during the postpartum period.
Last May, Iza also shared truths about the fourth trimester, "I suggest looking for other ways to get this support. Reach out to friends and/or family in advance. Book a nanny, cleaning lady or anyone who can assist you at home. Ask for help and support without guilt or shame — it does not make you a weak or bad mom. It can enable you to show up better for your child because your cup is filled."
Happy birthday, Deia Amihan!
