We Feel You! Mariel Padilla Perfectly Describes What Moms With Sick Kids Go Through

As Covid-19 cases rise day after day, parents take the brunt of the pressure and responsibilities of being both nurse and yaya not just to the kids, but to other family members, while nursing themselves to health as well. To say that it’s exhausting physically, mentally and emotionally is truly an understatement.

37-year old actress and mom Mariel Padilla echoes the struggle of sick parents nursing their families back to health in her recent post on Instagram.

Gabriela, her 2-year old daughter and second child has been sick for days which made the girl extra clingy to her mother.

“When babies are sick they are extra clingy. So for days i ate this way,” the post says, showing a photo of Mariel squatting on the floor, carrying her daughter in her left arm, while scooping what appears to be Gabriela’s meal in a bowl.

Mariel went on to encourage moms who are going through the same ordeal as she is. “today i just want to tell all the moms out there that you… WE are all doing an amazing job.”

In the frenzy of things, a mom usually remembers herself last. That’s why Mariel offered a reminder for moms to take care of themselves, too. 

“I know we shoulder all the pressure, all the worry, feeding, bathing, house chores, temperature check, meds, calling the doctor, keeping it together and everything else while nursing our own colds, cough, fever or all of the above. So if you find time to relax, sit and eat well… go ahead!!! You deserve it too. You too need to get better. Care for yourself too."

Friend and fellow mom Bianca Gonzalez replied with an encouragement, "Love you Ma! Feel better soon Gabriela!', while husband Robin Padilla made sure Mariel knows what she means to the family. "our Hero and angel @marieltpadilla," he typed in the comments section.
