My husband and I took our 4-year-old daughter to Art In Island on a Tuesday afternoon, and the crowd was okay. However, we were advised that there would be three buses arriving from Pampanga, with students on a field trip. Art In Island has been a certified field trip spot because it is fun and educational at the same time. Every spot in the museum can be a learning opportunity for children and adults alike.

Sections like Hiwaga ng Pilipinas and The Records of Light are perfect spots to discuss certain topics with your kids.

2. You'll never run out of spots to take great photos.

At first, you might think that Art In Island is nothing but a large empty space with light and media displays on the walls, but once you start taking photos, you will be amazed at the quality and beauty of how the images are captured on camera. In the words of my daughter, it was magical. The Circle of Seasons was our favorite backdrop, as well as the neon black art in Hiwaga ng Pilipinas.

If you want to be part of the masterpieces, Dancing With Flamingo has a wide array of classic paintings where you can pose creatively. Note that there will be no one to choreograph your poses; there aren't even x marks on the floor where you should stand, so it's entirely up to you if you want to take unique and silly photos. Let your imagination soar!

Smart Parenting tip: Whether you are going alone, as a couple, or as a family, a camera tripod will come in handy so you can take great photos with a timer. However, make sure that there is protective rubber on each of the stands. Any form of flash is prohibited.

If you can afford it, you can bring a photographer with you. Also, make sure to free up your phone's storage before you go!

3. You can do a quick tour, or spend more time with your fam.

If Art In Island is one of your itineraries for the day, you can tour the whole place in one and a half hours. However, you can spend more time here to make the most of your tour. There are resting areas in both the first and second floors, even a nursing station, so you can pace yourselves.

There are also Korean and Italian restaurants within the compound where you can have your meals before or after your tour. Parents love The Jeongwon, where they serve Korean food, but I highly recommend Bellini's!

2. How much is the entrance fee?

Entrance fee is Php 850 for adults, Php 600 for Senior Citizens and Persons with Disabilities, Php 600 for students (Kinder to Grade School), and Php 700 for students (Junior High School to College). Children below 3 feet can enter for FREE.

3. Do we need to bring socks?

Yes. Socks are required to be worn inside the museum. Shoes will be deposited at the entrance. You can purchase a pair of socks at the entrance for Php 150.
