Smart Parenting Food Awards 2024: Pregnancy, Breastfeeding, and Baby
Pregnancy Milk: Anmum Materna Milk Powder Plain
I cannot emphasize enough how much a pregnant mom needs folate and calcium. That's why knowing that Anmum Materna Milk Powder in its plain flavor is every Smart Parenting mom's favorite, it's easier and more convenient to choose which pregnancy milk to buy.
For moms who can't resist their chocolate and coffee cravings, Anmum also has other flavors such as Chocolate and Mocha Latte, both low in fat, making it a healthy and nutritious drink.
Thea Masakayan, mom of one and Summit Media's deputy content director, shared, "I had Anmum Materna every day for the duration of my pregnancy. I am not a heavy breakfast person but drinking chocolate variant was my treat every morning. Drink it hot or cold!"
Available on Shopee and Lazada.
Breastfeeding Supplements/Drinks: Mega-Malunggay Capsules
Cherrie Julian, Smart Parenting's associate video director, who breastfed her daughter for more than two years, can attest to the effectivity of Mega-Malunggay Capsules in boosting her breastmilk supply, especially before her period returned postpartum. She said, "What I dreaded the most about postpartum life was the return of the red days. I’ve heard from some moms that the first period after pregnancy may affect milk supply and as an 'enougher' and exclusively breastfeeding mom, I could not afford a dip in my milk production."
"I took Mega-Malunggay two weeks before my period came and I was happy with the outcome! My milk supply became steady all throughout, despite my baby feeding more than usual through some growth spurts. The increase in my letdown collection was even more remarkable as I continued to take the supplement everyday," Cherrie added.
She also loved that this milk booster has Vitamin C for mom care. "Mega-Malunggay serves as a mom’s reliable partner on this breastfeeding journey; Like a true breastfriend, Mega-Malunggay did not let me down. Definitely recommending this to all nursing moms!"

Baby Food: Cerelac Wheat Banana and Milk Infant Cereal
Another important milestone for new parents is when their child starts eating solids. We often scramble for the first meal we are going to serve and how much, so an easy pick for starting a baby's feeding journey, like Cerelac Wheat Banana and Milk Infant Cereals, is a godsend.
Smart Parenting editor-in-chief and mom of three Ronna Capili Bonifacio said, "I still remember it was so convenient to travel with my six-month-old who was learning to eat solids because of Cerelac. The Wheat Banana and Milk Infant Cereal was her favorite, and I appreciated that wasn't too sweet." She added, "It also simplified introducing solids for a first-time mom with no extra help at home, I could still ensure I could feed my baby even when I'm tired from baby care and home management."
Available on Shopee and Lazada.
Baby Snack / Transition Food: Gerber Grain & Grow Puffs
If there's an easy snack that you can just pop into your baby bag so you can ensure that your little one will never starve, Gerber Grain & Grow Puffs is the choice of the Smart Parenting moms.
"My youngest daughter liked this and regularly had it as a snack when she was a toddler," said Em Cruz, Smart Parenting section editor. She added, "Another perk for me is that toddlers can easily eat it on their own, kaya it's a must-have baon din whenever we're out.
Available on Shopee and Lazada.
Baby Food Processors: Beaba Babycook Neo
For parents who want to make transitioning to solids easier and healthier, the Beaba Babycook Neo will be your bestfriend. Having this in your kitchen will make meal preparation a breeze, as it helps steam, cook, blend, reheat and defrost your baby's food in 15 minutes or less. No need for big pots, microwave, and blender—that's why the Smart Parenting community considers this a worthy investment for new parents.
Zennie Arganda, a mom of one and Smart Parenting's social media and community manager, is grateful for this helpful kitchen tool. "Getting my child to eat solids is a struggle since she is sensitive to textures. She spits out slimy, rough, and brittle solids. Good thing with food processors like Beaba Babycook Neo, I can combine vegetables into her food, or make it similar to her favorite nuggets or patties."
Available on Shopee and Lazada.
Drinking Water: Wilkins Distilled Water
When it comes to your baby's water, Wilkins Distilled Water remains the top choice for Filipino parents. As a Smart Parenting Awards 2023 titleholder for the preferred Distilled Water, parents in the Smart Parenting community can vouch for Wilkins as their choice for babies ages 1 year old and older and for cleansing their newborn's delicate skin.
