  • Moms and dads dream of becoming homeowners, but it is one of the biggest — and serious — financial decisions you will have to make as a couple. But 2021 can finally be the year you get to be one, because we found a tiny house that you can buy for Php89,000!

Cubo is a company specializing in modular houses. The house is made of prefabricated components that are delivered to the site of assembly, an empty lot for instance. This makes it easy to assemble a house — you can have one built in just four hours and move in right away!

“We use a proprietary panel building system. We deliver our building panels — floor panels, wall panels, roof panels — on site with all electrical, plumbing, and mechanical components already preinstalled,” explains Earl Forlales, CEO and co-founder of Cubo Modular.

“We prepare your building site with the help of one of our Cubo partner builders. While they are preparing your foundation, your septic tank, your water [and] electricity lines, we’re already manufacturing your house here inside our factory,” Earl shares.

He adds that this drastically lessens the building timeline because the house and foundation construction happen at the same time. The houses are also sustainable and environment-friendly — it is made of engineered bamboo that is termite- and moisture-proof.

Cubo currently has three models that come in various prices and sizes. Their most affordable is the Batanes Origin, a compact home that features an open 6.5 sq.m plan and with customizable options. It costs Php89,000.

It also has a kitchen area, a complete bathroom setup, living and dining areas, plus dedicated wardrobe space and a front deck! The cost: Php499,000.
