There is a reason some babies don’t like to be put down on the bed after falling asleep. Sometimes, they simply need warmth from the human touch.
A sweet photo of a doctor in a New Zealand hospital comforting a baby whose mom was sick has been getting some positive attention since it was shared on Facebook on April 25, 2018. It still a source of good vibes until now.
Waikato Hospital in Hamilton, New Zealand, shared the photo of the baby sleeping peacefully on its Health Board ED consultant, Dr. Muir Wallace’s shoulder. “Several people tried, but Muir was the only one able to settle him. So for about an hour the other day, our consultant in charge (of the entire ED) was most definitely multi-tasking. Just an example of the small kindnesses that happen every day that often go unnoticed.”

According to local reports, Dr. Wallace has been performing random little acts of kindness and excellent bedside manners. One parent described the doctor as “amazing.” “He looked after my son last night in kid’s place as he had a burnt face and needed [an] anesthetic to make sure his eye was okay,” the mom commented on the post. “Such a funny doctor [and he kept] me as ease [and explained to me] step by step what was happening.”
She also thanked the doctor for “all the kind work you and your team do. You really all are so overworked and under-appreciated.”
