Celebrity couple Aubrey Miles and Troy Montero have been together for 18 years, and yet it’s like they’re still very much in the honeymoon stage. When asked what the secret “formula” to a lasting partnership is, Aubrey says that for them, it was all about the “perfect timing.”
“Sabi niya [Troy], kung siguro nag-meet kami nang medyo younger age siya tapos ako, I’m so busy, we might not work,” Aubrey shares in an exclusive Dibdibang Usapan interview with SmartParenting.com.ph.
“It’s just really the time — perfect time,” she adds.
Parents know that relationships change when children come into the picture. When it comes to raising their kids, — Hunter, 13; Rocket, 3; and Aubrey’s first-born child, Maurie, 20 — the mom acknowledges that what works for them is the give-and-take in responsibilities and duties.
For example, Troy has no qualms giving Aubrey the time she needs to work out, while he takes care of the kids (they have no yaya!) and vice-versa. The mom also appreciates how caring and loving her partner is.
“Actually minsan kahit mas lamang siya [in childcare], nag-e-enjoy naman siya. Nagluluto pa kung anong gusto ko tapos bibigyan ako ng tubig every morning,” she muses.
“Very caring sa babae… alam niya ‘yung respeto sa babae,” Aubrey adds.
Despite almost two decades together, Aubrey admits that Troy still manages to “wow” her, especially as he seems to get hotter as he gets older, exclaiming, “Alam mo, grabe!”
“May mga days talaga na parang mas gwapo pa siya, tapos biglang naligo, mas gwapo pa ulit. Parang, ‘Ano ba ‘to?’ sabi ko,” she shares.
“Every morning, if you see someone na gwapo, mabait, responsible, supportive… ano pang i-a-ask natin, ‘di ba?”
