The following story came straight from the first-ever Smart Parenting daddy editor-at-large, and the man behind the DadbudPH Facebook community, with over 45,000 member dads as of writing.
Smart Parenting's advocacy, now more than ever, is to include dads in parenting conversations. We want to provide a judgment-free space where dads can voice out their unique points of view, whether majority agrees or not. Smart Parenting remains a platform that's pro-parents, and that includes dads.
Read the words of our daddy editor Joey Ong, 43 years old, husband to Ciara, and father to a cute toddler named Joselito.
Let’s face it, part of any relationship is the feeling of comfort and contentment. Honestly, we are all at fault when we do take things for granted and more often than not, yes, we do forget that old baduy cheesy feeling.
It's common to take things for granted, but it doesn't mean there's less love. -Joey Ong on marriage
Common naman ito and sa totoo lang, this doesn’t mean that there is less love in the relationship. Things just got a bit more serious and oh boy, reality really bites.
This Valentine's Day, why not try our best to reignite the flame?
Here are some simple ways to bring back that old feeling and ideas that won’t break the bank.

How to romance your wife again
1. Tumulong sa bahay.
The most important and believe me mga bros and buds, no fail and libre lang 'to. Just be kind and responsible. Help out at home, do some chores, clean the house, do the laundry and get off your phone and mind your family. #Basic

2. Cook a special meal at home.
I personally love this and for me, there is nothing more special than a home-cooked meal prepared with love. Dahil gawa mo, siyempre special yan agad.
Get your kids involved and make it a special occassion at home. It’s also a good way to teach your children about the concept of Valentine's Day. Be the good example to your sons on how to treat their mom and show your daughters how they should be treated.
Simple can be special. Depende talaga sa capacity mo, kung may budget ka then make it grand but if wala, wag pilitin dahil it’s really the thought that counts.
3. Go for a drive and roadtrip to a place you’ve always wanted to try.
Make sure to book in advance because that day is usally the most busy day for all restaurants. If you both don't mind, celebrate Valentine's Day before or after the February 14 rush.
4. Use your skills and God-given talent.
If you are an artist, make something. If you are a builder, build something. If you are a cook, cook something special.
This is something we men forget when we sink into the comfort zone of family life. The need to show off our skills. Remind your partner, why she chose you and Valentine's Day is a perfect time to do that. Diba uso ngayon mag flex, so go ahead and flex away to your woman's heart. Trust me, a good deed will always be rewarded, alam niyo na yun.

To be a good parent is to be a better partner kaya importante talaga ang mga bagay na nagbibigay buhay sa relationship.
Remember the importance of the little things and these are the ones that matter most. Start with Valentine's Day and make it a habit to do it more often.
This is your Dadbud Joey reminding every dad reading this to always find time to show how special your partner is to you and to your kids. Maligayang Araw ng mga puso!
