Andi Eigenmann revealed that she and her partner, Philmar Alipayo, decided to postpone their scheduled wedding this year, following the death of her mother, veteran actress Jaclyn Jose.
Andi told reporters at the Parangal ng Sining 2024 held on April 19 that she and Philmar want to "wait out a bit" on their wedding, as they were supposed to dedicate it to the late veteran actress. The Siargao-based couple, also vloggers, got engaged in December 2020.
"Honestly, we wanted to get married this year. But under these circumstances, we just decided to wait it out a bit. Para kay Nanay sana 'yun," she said.

The celebrity mom attended the FDCP's Parangal ng Sining to accept the Honorary Distinction on her mother's behalf. In her acceptance speech, an emotional Andi expressed her gratitude to those who showed love for the screen veteran throughout her fruitful career.
Andi, who was in Manila to commemorate her mother's 40th day after death, said she will focus on the "good things" to help herself move forward. She also got candid about her grief.
"Mahirap. Slowly, I hope I'll get there. But I know she is proud of me; she loves me, and her grandchildren. So, I'll focus on the good things and my family," she said. "It just happened very recently, so tributes for my mom [touch my heart]… I've always been proud of my mom. I've always been my mom’s biggest fan," she shared.
Andi and Philmar's Engagement
Andi and Philmar, who have three children together, revealed their engagement on Instagram on December 20, 2020. The actress then uploaded a carousel of photos of their underwater photoshoot.
Their love story began when Andi attended an awarding ceremony while on vacation and saw Philmar, a professional surfer based in Siargao. Andi and Philmar quickly became friends and casually commented on each other's Instagram posts. The two of them eventually got to know one another even better when Andi visited Siargao again alone.
