Bettinna Carlos opens up about her recent health scare

"I thought this was going to be my last Mother's Day," Bettinna began her post, accompanied by a carousel of photos, including one of her arm with an IV while she lay in a hospital bed.

She revealed that she was diagnosed with a tension headache, something she had never experienced so severely before. According to her, the intense pain was triggered by high levels of stress.

"My head never hurt like this my whole life! After two ER visits in 12 hours and a very scary MRI for this claustrophobic, I still feel like mamamatay ako every time I sit up," she wrote. Fortunately, her scans came back negative for any serious illness beyond muscle spasms.

Bettinna, a mother of two daughters, expressed how hard it was, not just physically but emotionally.

While she was in the hospital, she couldn't help but worry about her young children, particularly her youngest daughter, who had to sleep beside her older sister in her absence.

"More painful, though, was thinking of my 2 year old sleeping on the chest of my 14 year old who is a heavy sleeper," she shared. "Worried she might wake up looking for me to hush her back to sleep while I'm in the hospital and her Ate may be unable to quiet her, or unable to wake up in time!"

Despite the physical pain and emotional distress, Bettinna was overwhelmed with gratitude for those who stepped in to help. She thanked friends who cared for her children and her spiritual family who supported them with prayers, food, and encouragement. Their presence brought comfort during a time when she felt especially vulnerable.

The experience led Bettinna to reflect on how she manages stress and how it affects her health. "Now as I lay flat in bed with a heating pad on my back, neck, and head, I'm prayerfully rethinking my response to stress," she wrote.

She then questioned how she could better manage her reactions and change her perspective to avoid letting stress reach such a dangerous level. "Such a painful way to learn but God knows how I'd best learn," she added.

Bettinna also shared a touching moment of pride in her eldest daughter, Gummy, who stepped up to help care for her younger sister. It was more challenging because their household help was away at the time. "It was just us and God in and through our community," she said.

Bettinna has been married to businessman Mikki Eduardo since 2020.
