  • Attention, book lovers. The "Big Bad Wolf Book Sale" is back with a promise: 2 million new titles at 50 to 90 percent off!

Big Bad Wolf Book Sale visited Manila for the first time last year and was met with enthusiastic response as Filipinos brought maletas (suitcases!) for their haul. It prompted two more events in Cebu and Davao later in the year.

This year, Big Bad Wolf Book Sale is helping Gawad Kalinga (GK) in its initiative to build libraries in different GK communities all over the country.

“Working together with the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale has enabled us to provide quality books to our communities,” Luis Oquiñena, the executive director of GK, shared. “Their support has helped us build better reading corners for our Gawad Kalinga families. We are glad that we are able to continue this relationship this year and we hope to move forward together in making affordable books accessible to the other parts of the Philippines.”

What to know about the world's biggest book sale

Big Bad Wolf Book Sale will be held from February 22 to March 4, 2019, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. The sale will be open for 24 hours and admission is free. Guests are encouraged to wear light, comfortable clothing, and to visit the sale at non-peak hours to ensure a comfortable shopping experience.

One of Smartparenting.com.ph's contributing writers, Alexine Parreño, did a preview of the sale for us last year, and could not help but gush about how it was a book heaven for families (read: you will need those maletas). “I was there for seven hours, and it was still bitin. You need more than one day.” (Check out our picks of good reads here.)
