Danica Greets Marc On His Birthday: 'My Love, Best Friend, Favorite Person Asarin'

Danica Sotto took to Instagram on October 16, 2022 to greet her husband Marc Pingris on his 41st birthday.

The cooking mama and TV host called the father of her two kids Mic, 14, and Caela, 11, plus another boy on the way "my love, best friend and my favorite person asarin."

She also used the hashtag #mybebe to describe the former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) standout known as the Pinoy Sakuragi. (Read here on how Danica honored Marc on his retirement as a pro player.)

In one of Danica and Marc's TV appearances, the couple, who's been married for 15 years, had their asaran moments. They said in an episode of the GMA-7 talk show Mars Pa More that they couldn't agree on matters about time at the start of their marriage.

Marc explained that he's gotten used to waking up early to get to his basketball practices earlier than the appointed time. He added that there was a fine of PhP1,500 for coming in late.

"Eto," said Marc, gesturing to Danica, who's seated beside him, "no’ng wala pa kaming baby, pag nag-aalarm ako ng 5:30, aalis ako ng 6. Pag papaalis na ’ko, siya, babangon pa lang. So ’yun, iiwanan ko siya."

Marc again gestured to his wife when asked about being messy at home, Danica protested: "Ako, makalat? No, ikaw. Ikaw ang mas may coins."

Marc tried to protest, too: "Coins lang…Puwede bang tayong dalawa na lang?"

Danica wouldn't let him have it: "Siya ’yung may coins..."

Marc again tried to present his case: "Pero pag nagbibihis ka…"

Danica was quick to the draw: "Nilalagay ko sa hamper...’Yung kalat ko kapag nagmamadali. Magme-make up, ’ta’s and’yan ang mga gamit ko. I’ll fix it after na. Mga gano’n."

She added, pointing to her husband, "Eto, ang kalat niya, naiinis ako kung ano ’yung nasa pocket niya, ilalagay niya rin do’n sa cabinet. So may mga coins akong nakikita doon sa mga damit. Sabi ko, ‘Bakit ang daming coins? Ano ba ’to? Some kind of lucky charm ba ito?'"

These days, though, the couple hardly have anything to fight over, and they know how how to say sorry to each other.

Marc explained, "Talagang pinag-uusapan namin. Hindi kami natutulog hanggat hindi kami nagso-sorry. Pinagpi-pray namin, para next time, alam na namin. Di na namin pag-aawayan."

Nodding, Danica said, "Pero memorize ko na ang line mo talaga, ‘Ano, tapos ka na? Puwede na akong magsalita?’" She pointed out in awe, "Gano’n kakalma."
