Dingdong Dantes: Why Zia Won't Have a Social Media Account for NowDingdong does appreciate the fan-made accounts.by Allan Olga .
Dingdong Dantes beams with pride when it is mentioned to him how daughter Zia is “bibo.”
Like other kids of celebrity parents, Maria Letizia, or Zia, now 2 year -old, is making a lot of netizens happy with her adorable pictures and videos that her parents and their friends share online.
During a chat with SmartParenting.com.ph last March 15, the proud dad says of Zia, “Para sa amin, talagang God’s greatest gift siya sa amin — at kung sino pa ang ibibigay sa amin sa future.
“Pag nakikita mo siya, [you realize] ‘yun ‘yung totoong reason kung bakit kayo ikinasal in the first place…it’s to create human beings na magiging mabubuting tao in the future.”ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
From the moment Dingdong's wife Marian Rivera gave birth on November 2015, netizens went crazy over her cute photos. Her following on social media grew over time, which doesn't come as a surprise to her mother.
“Hindi ko na siya kailangang turuan sa camera parang inborn na siyang ganon. Minsan ako na yung 'Wow anak ha, tinalo mo ko.' Ini-enjoy niya e, siguro nakikita din niya kasi minsan sinasama ko siya sa trabaho e so baka nakikita niya.”
Dingdong, who is currently traveling in Europe with his mag-ina, finds the social media attention on his daughter amusing because this "social media star" does not have an account.
“Everything that you see, it’s either from ours or friends, pero siya mismo wala,” Dingdong explains.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
While her parents appreciate the love people have shown for Zia, they remain careful not to over-expose her in the limelight. Dingdong says they would like to give Zia a choice to be in the spotlight or not when she is old enough.
“We appreciate yun kasi may mga fan-made accounts. We appreciate them, but later on, we’d like to give her the option kung gusto talaga niya magkaroon ng sarili niya dahil buhay din naman niya ‘yon ultimately.”
However, Dingdong intends to tell Zia how she has not just become a source of joy for her parents but for many many people happy without her even trying.
“Dapat malaman niya at one point in her life she was able to do (that) effortlessly.”ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
