  • Divine Lee is a self-confessed proactive (read: Obsessive Compulsive) momma — a quality we saw in her from the time she became pregnant with her first child, Baz

While waiting for Baz’s birth, the entrepreneur, who had her eggs frozen when she was still a single woman in her twenties, renovated not one, but two nurseries (one each for their homes in Manila and Cebu), and jokingly said in her posts that she had found a school for her yet-unborn baby, and an outfit for his Junior-Senior prom ... in high school (we don’t doubt there’s a hint of truth in her statements)!

Divine also packed 4 suitcases in anticipation of her hospital stay, and had arranged for a photographer and a hair-and-make-up artist before childbirth.

Now, with Baz a year-and-a-half old and a Kuya to month-old baby girl Blanca, Divine is wasting no time teaching him important life lessons, including those on romantic love. Using the hashtag #LettersToBazzy, she posted a heartwarming open letter on Instagram for her firstborn.

“I know it’s quite a long way to go before you deal with love problems, but hopefully by that time if you can’t talk to mama about it (I hope not) - you can read this,” she began her message for Baz, who turned 1 year old in May 2019.

“Your lolo once told me that he can try to protect me from everything except matters of the heart. Para daw yan swimming, pwede nyang sabihin left arm, right arm, padjak left and right mabilis - but until hindi ka nilalagay sa tubig, hindi ka matututo.

“Ako naman, I would like to add that I actually want you to get hurt kahit once. Because that means na malalim ka mag mahal.

Walang nag mamahal na hindi nasasaktan. Kaya ok lang yan.

“I just wish that when that time comes, I have prepared you with life skills you need to get back up and know your worth.”

“I guess one of the most important things I need you to remember is - find someone who will love you even when you can’t find reasons to love yourself. Pag nahanap mo yun- suhulan mo ng ice cream. Double scoop. Sagot ko na. LOL,” the mom of two wrote in her signature humorous style.

This isn’t the first #LettersToBazzy Divine has written. Earlier this month, she penned a timely message about raising a capable adult in a conscious effort to avoid overparenting her son.

In her latest post lecturing Baz about relationships, she also warned her son about infidelity. “And since lalake ka, wag kang mang chicks! Isa isa Lang! Always remember may nanay at kapatid ka ding babae. Malupit gumanti ang babae pag nasaktan.”

She points out that falling in love isn’t only a feeling, but ultimately, about finding a worthy person to give your love to.

“Masarap ma in love! Pero mas masarap ma in love sa karapat dapat.

“When the world seems too small and dark, napaka sarap sakin na makita may kasama ka who would turn the world upside down to make you alright and happy. (At lagi rin kami nandito especially kung single ka. LOL). Love deeply. Love always. Love selflessly.”
