Donation Drives Launched for Typhoon Carina Victims

Alongside government initiatives, several non-governmental organizations have launched donation drives to support victims of the flooding caused by Super Typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon, locally called habagat.

As of the morning of July 25, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced that the Super Typhoon has exited the country. Despite this, severe flooding has displaced thousands of families in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Angat Buhay

Non-governmental organization Angat Buhay is partnering with the Tanging Yaman Foundation (TYFI). All donations for Angat Buhay may be directed to TYFI and will be used to support ongoing relief efforts. Your contributions will help provide essential supplies, medical assistance, and other forms of aid to those affected by Super Typhoon Carina. 

Alagang Kapatid Foundation

The Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc., the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of TV5, is currently accepting monetary donations. These contributions will be used to support relief efforts.

Alliance of Concerned Teachers Philippines

The Alliance of Concerned Teachers Philippines is accepting both monetary and in-kind donations. Suggested items clean drinking water, ready-to-eat meals, clean clothes and bedding, medicine kits, and toiletries. Your contributions will directly support relief efforts and provide essential aid to those affected by the recent flooding.

Philippine Animal Welfare Society 

PAWS is seeking your support for its Disaster Relief Operations to aid animal companions and their families in Marikina. Alongside monetary donations, the organization urgently needs in-kind contributions, including dog and cat food (canned and kibble), collapsible cages and crates, canned goods for people, and rice. Donations can be dropped off at the PAWS Animal Rehabilitation Center, located at Aurora Blvd. cor. Katipunan Ave., Loyola Heights, Quezon City. 

LoveYourself Inc.

LoveYourself Inc., a community of volunteers, is also accepting monetary donations and in-kind contributions. They are in need of basic essentials, including baby and childcare items like unused baby bottles, pacifiers, baby wipes, and more. Refer to the full list of suggested items to donate below.

AHON San Juan

The group Ahon San Juan is mobilizing to assist those impacted by Typhoon Carina. You can contribute through their donation channels listed below. For in-kind donations, they urgently need food, clothing, and medicine. Please message their official Facebook page for details on where to drop off your items. 

Benilde Center for Social Action

The Benilde Center for Social Action at De La Salle University College of St. Benilde is seeking cash donations to support families and communities in need. The aid will be directed to the center’s Kapitbahayan Partners. Donations can be made through GCash using the QR code provided below.

Batibot Early Learning Center

The Batibot Early Learning Center in Marikina City is requesting both volunteers and cash donations to support communities near the Marikina River impacted by severe flooding. Those interested in volunteering for soup kitchens, rescue operations, and relief efforts can sign up here.

A Bag of Hope Marikina

A Bag of Hope aims to support 50 families by providing each with a bag of essential goods, including food, water, and other necessities. The distribution is scheduled for Saturday, July 27, so you may send your contributions before then. Your additional donations will help the group assist even more families in need, offering them the resources required to recover and rebuild.

Tulong Kabataan PH Disaster Response Center

Tulong Kabataan PH, in collaboration with various groups, organizations, and community partners, is collecting donations through the bank accounts listed below. You can also drop off in-kind contributions at the specified locations.
