Less than a month into Ellen Adarna and Derek Ramsay's marriage, which was solemnized on November 11, 2021 at a resort in Bataan, and the wife has apparently integrated well into the husband's family.
For starters, Ellen posted a birthday message to Derek's mom Remedios Ramsay, on November 22, in a lighthearted manner that showed they are comfortable with each other.
The actress said in the caption, "Happy Birthday to my kind, beautiful, wonderful and ever reliable Mom…" But she got confused, adding, "Tita...Mom Tita? Tita Mom? Mom? Hehehe I'm not used to it yet, momomomomom!"
One thing's for sure, though, she pointed out, "I am so lucky to have you...because...takot na takot si Derek sayo nyahahahaha!" She also used the hashtag, #mothersknowbest.
Derek reacted in a lightedhearted manner, too, telling his wife in the comments section, "You're so cute."
A few days later, Remedios, a businesswoman, shared her thoughts and feelings about her son and her new daughter-in-law in an interview with Philippine Star columnist Pat-P Daza.
The owner of an electronic security systems company and other businesses said the newlyweds click "mainly because they are both REAL." She added, "What you see is what you get. They are both not afraid of what people will say so they continue to be honest and sincere about how they want to live their lives.”
Remedios also replied to the question on why the couple, who met in January 2021 and got engaged two months later, seemed to have rushed into the wedding.
“It’s no secret they both came from high-profile relationships that lasted over a year," she said, referring to Derek's past romance with Andrea Torres and Ellen's with John Lloyd Cruz. Ellen and John Lloyd co-parent their young son Elias.
Derek mom's continued with her reply, "Everyone was surprised it happened so fast but for me, things always happen for a reason, the reason being that my prayers were answered.
"I have been praying for so long that my son would find someone who loves him sincerely and will give him everlasting happiness. I can see now that my son is very happy when he is with Ellen, and likewise Ellen is the same. Everybody can see how happy Derek is now.”
