Ellen and John Lloyd's Baby's Name Is...The name the couple reportedly chose for their firstborn has biblical originsby Lei Dimarucut-Sison .
It's been almost three weeks since actress Ellen Adarna was said to have given birth to her first child with her partner, actor John Lloyd Cruz, but the public has yet to catch a glimpse of their baby, or of the new mom.
The new dad, however, has been seen looking at baby strollers at a mall in Cebu, and buying a car seat that's intended for a baby boy, witnesses said.
New reports published on Pep.ph today now confirm, based on an article by entertainment reporter MJ Marfori, that the couple has picked a name for their newborn son: Elias Modesto.
'Elias' is a variant of the biblical name Elijah, which means "Jehovah is God," while 'Modesto' has Latin origins that mean "gentle".
The baby boy's name is also a tribute to Ellen's father, Alan Modesto Adarna, who passed away at 58 years old in June this year.
Atty. Rebo Saguisag, Ellen's legal counsel for the child abuse complaint filed against her in May, made a statement earlier this month to confirm that the actress had given birth two days after the supposed hearing was to take place.
"After the [last] hearing, sinabi namin, nanganak na siya, two days after," Atty. Saguisag told reporters. "Sinasabi nila, 'delay.' Maybe 'delay,' for her to be able to have a safe delivery. And in due time... Mahirap i-biyahe, e. It's a matter of days pa lang, e."
Reports that the baby has been baptized at the hospital after birth have been shut down by John Lloyd in an Instagram post, referring to it as "fake news."ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOWCONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
