On the day of their sixth wedding anniversary, On January 31, 2020, Iya Villania and Drew Arellano announced that they're expecting their third baby. The preggo mom told her husband the good news on Christmas Day in 2019 in the form of a gift: the ultrasound scan enclosed in an envelope.
Iya revealed to her Mars Pa More co-host Camille Prats that though they were hoping for baby number three, she was surprised to be infanticipating again so soon.
"Nagulat ako kasi I was just waiting for my monthly visitor," Iya said on the show's episode aired on February 3, 2020. She waited for 50 days for her menstrual period to arrive before taking a pregnancy test, which confirmed her hunch.
Like her previous pregnancies, Iya has been working out and keeping active. "So far, it's still the same. Sana hanggang dulo, it'll be the same," she shared. "Siyempre every pregnancy nga is different, so baka it might progress differently, so hangga't kaya, hangga't okay pa, push natin yan," the mom of two said.
Iya and Drew are okay with having another son
This time around, Iya and Drew will not be having any gender reveal announcement. They don't want to know if they're having another boy or a girl until the baby arrives. Do they have a preference? Iya said she initially wanted a girl but then found herself wanting another boy.
"Kasi actually I love boys tsaka parang feeling ko baka mawindang ako kasi gamay ko na yung boys e, alam ko na kung paano," Iya shared of taking care of sons Primo, 3, and Leon, 1. "Baka mamaya kung girl, anong gagawain ko dito," she admitted.
Still, she's okay no matter what and only prays for an easy pregnancy, safe delivery, and healthy baby.
Iya shared that Drew also doesn't mind having a third son, "but I'm sure he would also love to have a girl," she added. The mom of two shared that her eldest, Primo, wants two baby brothers.
With baby #3 on the way, Iya has a long way till her greatest fear happens
In the same episode of Mars Pa More, Iya revealed her biggest fear as a parent that many other moms would echo -- the day her kids won't need her anymore.
"Bilang magulang, darating talaga tayo sa point na parang feeling mo hindi ka na nila kailangan," Iya Shared in the show's "Mom Sharing Group" hugot segment.
"Sobra akong takot to get to that point kasi at this point, sobra akong kinakailangan ng mga anak ko na hindi ko ma-imagine ano mangyayari sa kanila kung wala," the preggy mom shared, fighting the tears from rolling own her cheeks.
Iya knows she's still a long way to go until that day arrives, with her kids still being young and a third baby on the way. But she is confident that no matter what happens, she will always be there for her kids.
"Isang tawag lang, anytime my children need me, I will be there," Iya shared.
