  • Jackie Forster and her family are still just settling into their new home in China. In mid-February, she posted a photo of herself, husband Michel, and kids Jared, Caleigh, and Yohan taken inside a plane at the Heathrow Airport in London on their way to their new adventure this side of the world.

"And just like that after a year and a half our Bri’ish adventures have come to an end... so long London, we shall see you again on one of our holidays! No dry eyes here, we will surely miss our friends. Thank you for everything [United Kingdom flag emoji]. For now, we turn a leaf. Off to the next chapter!" she captioned it.

Understandably, their move to China gives Jackie so much to do that she can't even plan a visit to the Philippines just yet, especially since paperwork takes about 4 to 6 weeks, she says. She told Pep.ph in an interview, "I can’t leave any time soon because we are fixing our residence card. I think I can only travel to the US because of my passport.

"But also I need to accept our air freight and move into our permanent house in a few weeks.

"Jared just started school today so I’ve been busy with him.

"One step at a time muna kami before making plans. Nakakalula sa dami!"

She may sound overwhelmed, but Jackie is quite happy that they are back in Asia, enjoying the simple, everyday things. Their move to China offers a ray of light — literally.

"Growing up with sunshine and ice cream after school feels more like home. That’s what kuya @jared_therockstar and @caleighsimone had for years and glad #yohandsomef will also experience it again after spending half of his life in the [United Kingdom flag emoji], 1.5 years to be exact."

Her husband Michel's work takes the family to different places around the world, and for a few years they've stayed in Singapore and Malaysia, when Jared and Caleigh were still very young. Now three-year-old Yohan can also experience living in Asia.

Yohan is so excited for China's warm weather that he even woke up his parents one day to tell them that the sun is out!

Jackie's post was captioned, "We woke up to #yohandsomef telling me there is sun out already! He got himself dressed and ready for school... too bad it’s Saturday morning. He’s a bit disappointed and asked 'How many more sleeps until I can go back to school?' Then he showed me how he tied his jacket around his waist by himself to look 'more cool!' This growing up thing really does just hit you hard in these instances."

Living in a foreign place with young children can be extra challenging, but Jackie's kids are already used to it, having resided in Singapore, Malaysia, London, and Mexico in the past.

The great thing about it is that Jared, Caleigh, and Yohan are growing up as independent kids, and they've become their mom's trusty little helpers.

On their first few days in China, Jared helped Jackie pick up some items for the household, like a laundry rack and a stool Yohan can step on while brushing his teeth or washing his hands. "One day kuya will look back on these photos and remember it was these little things that meant the most," reads part of her caption.

Yohan has learned how to fold his own clothes and proudly showed his mom ("I hope you like it!")! Credit goes to big sister Caleigh, whom he shares a room with, for teaching him. How sweet!

Meanwhile, the two younger kids helped Jackie check out the supermarket to get groceries, looking every bit like the cool kids with their swag.

The other thing Jackie can look forward to now that she lives only a few hours away from Manila is visits with her Philippine-based sons Andre and Kobe anytime they wish to.

Just more than a year ago, Jackie reconciled with her older sons after a 12-year gap. The much-awaited reunion was only revealed in May, but Jackie marked the moment it happened with a photo which she posted early this year.

Part of her caption, addressed to her followers, reads, "No matter what things look like, keep praying and believing. I wish all this happiness I have in my heart to come your way also as you faithfully declare victory over circumstances as you read this!!!"
