Jericho Rosales And Kim Jones Separated Since 2019, ‘Remain Very Good Friends’

Jericho Rosales and Kim Jones have officially ended their 10-year marriage, with the confirmation coming from Ricco Ocampo in a statement given to ABS-CBN News. Ricco is a close friend and godfather to the couple.

Ricco, who has known them since the beginning of their relationship, revealed that Rosales and Jones separated in 2019 but have maintained a strong friendship since the split.

“While the friendship between the two remains, they have decided it is time to lead separate lives. They are encouraging each other to grow, albeit in different directions. It was a mutual decision, an amicable separation, dealt with grace and maturity by both parties," Ocampo said.

“The two are filled with gratitude for the memories they’ve made together and the lessons they’ve learned. They have journeyed through the separation with the utmost respect and care toward one another precisely because Echo and Kim are the best of friends and love each other like family.

“This split is not borne out of ill feelings. On the contrary, one might say that it is a demonstration of their affection and respect, as Echo and Kim only wish the best for each other.

"They are incredibly grateful for those who have supported them throughout the years, and appreciate the respect of their privacy during this time.”

Ocampo also revealed that the two are working on another film slated for release within the year, with Jones as the writer, director, and actor, and Rosales as producer. Additionally, both are pursuing individual projects, with Jones focusing on writing and filmmaking, and Rosales getting ready to release his latest project, Sell Block.

The former couple, who tied the knot in a beautiful beach wedding at Shangri-la Boracay in 2014, have no child together. Jericho has a child, Santino, from a former girlfriend, model Kai Palomares.

Amid recent breakup rumors circulating on social media, the duo responded to the speculation on their Instagram accounts. On January 22, 2024, Kim posted a heartwarming photo of the two with a caption that read, “Happy place, happy heart.”

In a January 13, 2024 interview, Jericho confidently declared the status of their relationship, stating that he and Kim were doing amazing.

Jericho’s life story was nothing short of remarkable, transitioning from humble beginnings as a fish vendor, jeepney barker, pizza boy, and driver to achieving success as an actor. Kim is a British-Filipino model and host who moved to the Philippines from Australia in 2010. She gained international recognition, being featured on CNN’s Leading Women and recognized as one of the “changemakers working to make the world a better place” by Tatler Magazine. Renowned as a creative and filmmaker, Kim has collaborated with major brands such as Louis Vuitton and Calvin Klein. Her works were featured in Vogue Paris, T Magazine, New York Times, and Harper’s Bazaar.

In 2011, Jericho and Kim officially began their relationship, just a few months after their initial meeting. The couple got engaged in August 2013.

In a 2021 interview, Jericho and Kim shared insights into their marriage, emphasizing their unconventional approach. At that time, Jericho said, "I think I'm grateful because that's what we didn't have. In our own experience, we didn't have parameters.

"For us, we go against culture. Not because we hate it.

"We go against the normal or what the society says, what the culture says, because there's so much pressure in marriage. And even before you get married, you already feel the pressure.

"And for us, the pressure is the death of growth. We all know it. You press something, it's not gonna grow."

He also added that he and Kim agree on the fact that they still want to grow as individuals inside of their marriage, "It's, like, we never... We don't want to be trapped by the ideas of marriage."

At the time, they were also asked about their thoughts on having a child together. The actor said, “"We're always asked, 'When are you guys gonna have a baby?'

"It's just not something that we get pressured by society. For all you know, we're never going to have a baby.

"It's just we have a gift of relationship wherein we both can be whoever we wanna be.

"We both can be the best versions of ourselves."

The couple has also shared glimpses into their blended family, regularly celebrating special occasions with Jericho’s son Santino and his mother, Kai. A few years ago, Kai expressed gratitude to the couple on Instagram for celebrating her birthday, "Thank you, my little family, for a lovely birthday treat! Love you all heaps!"
