Jolina shared how Vika's condition made her feel helpless, especially when her daughter cried from the pain of her stomach hurting every time she coughed.

Jolina's account emphasizes the painful shared experience that parents face when their kids are sick: feeling worried while trying to ease their pain.

'Anak, ibigay mo na lang kay Mama 'yang ubo at sipon mo para hindi ka mahirapan,'" she added, recalling the care her own parents provided during her childhood illnesses.

The mom of two's post also serves as a reminder to take extra care of our kids, especially during flu season, which occurs between June and November.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the first and most important step in reducing the risk of contracting the flu is to stay up-to-date with yearly flu vaccinations. Those who are vaccinated and still contract the flu are less likely to experience severe symptoms.

Other important precautions include scheduling regular health check-ups, practicing good hygiene, and ensuring proper disinfection.
