“You are now a UAAP Champion,” Richard Gomez proudly shares the winning moment of his daughter, Juliana, in his Instagram account. Juliana Gomez, the unica hija of celebrity-turned politicians Rep. Richard Gomez and Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez, bagged a gold medal in the recent UAAP game against De La Salle University.
“I am so proud of you @gomezjuliana! You are now a UAAP champion!!! Hard work and understanding of the game has set in. I love you, ‘day!,” the proud dad’s message said.
The UP Fighting Maroons Club also shared the moment when Juliana won, “Juliana Gomez is your first gold medalist for the UP Fencing Team! Big congratulations! What a moment!” In the video clip they shared on their official Facebook page, Juliana led by 5 points. The moment the game was over, she went down on her knees, overwhelmed by the win.

She was clearly crying tears of joy as she greeted her opponent after the game. As she said in her Instagram post, “2 years in the making.. I’m just getting started. It’s a privilege to fight for UP. #UAAP95 #UPFight” All her hardwork and effort paid off.
All her training and preparations were surely not easy, but she made it!

In Richard Gomez’s Instagram post, Dingdong Dantes, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Tolentino and JV Ejercito greeted Juliana. Juliana replied to her dad’s IG post, “Thank you for everything dad! Love you!”

It’s surely one proud moment for Juliana and her parents. Even though Juliana did not follow the steps of her parents as celebrities, she shadowed her dad’s passion for fencing.Richard Gomez also competed in Fencing andrepresented the Philippines during the 1995 Southeast Asian Games. Like father, like daughter!
