The Karluk Tribal Council recently made a call for families with three to four children who are open to relocate for a year in Alaska. Karluk is located at Kodiak Island, Alaska. Karluk is described as a "shrinking village" with a population of only 37 according to a 2010 census as reported by Wikipedia.
According to two reports online, this call is Karluk Tribal Council's efforts at boosting its education system in order to claim its stateeducation funds. The ad, that has gone viral, says it is "looking for two families with 3-4 children to live in Karluk for a year,with all expenses paid. We would like to have a total of 8 children to receive state funding for our local school."
The council will provide: all living expenses paid for a year, 3 or 4 bedroom home accommodation, employment or job training support, and access to recreational activities like fishing, camping, kayaking. Interested parties may inquire through the numbers or email providedon the ad.
