Kryz Uy Is Expecting Baby No. 3! ‘I Feel Like It’s Going To Be Fun Na Magulo’ Says Slater

Four years into their marriage and two kids later, Kryz Uy and Slater Young have announced they’re expecting their third baby through a vlog today, December 24. “Oh my God, I thought I was done with two. I already donated everything. I thought we were done. And here we are again! Kryz told Slater in a debriefing session for their vlog.

The two share how they announced the good news to their family and friends, their feelings about adding to their family, and the exact moment they confirmed their suspicions of Kryz’s pregnancy in their latest vlog. As Kryz documents the result of their pregnancy test on cam, Slater can be seen calmly sitting and waiting for the test to show the result. “Back story is we really only wanted two. But. If the Lord says [laughter] you deserve more…” Kryz joked on the same day she takes the test. “You can’t fight nature,” quipped Slater.

Kryz and Slater have two boys, four-year-old Scottie and two-year-old Sevi.

Scottie’s answered prayer

“I think one of the most special moments for me, discovering that we are having another baby, is definitely Scottie’s reaction to it. The smile on his face is the most pure smile I’ve ever seen in my life,” Kryz said.

“Remember that you’ve been praying to God for something for a long time now, what is it? Kryz asked her eldest son. “A baby,” Scottie answered without missing a beat. “I think God heard your prayer,” Kryz revealed to her son, who grinned upon hearing his mom’s news. Scottie has also been sharing the news of his new sibling to his lola and lola–at times even before his parents.

Pregnant again after “getting her life back”

“When we took the test together it was an 80% chance, but I was hanging on to the 20% chance that it would be negative just because–” Kryz begins to explain her mixed emotions upon learning about her third pregnancy. “Obviously I love… and all children, like I know it’s a blessing to have, but I was also just clinging to like, ‘Shucks, I just found my life back again,” she said.

“You just found your stride,” Slater tried to help her explain. “I just got back to work. I’m happy where I am, guguluhin ko nanaman ‘to ulit? Babalik nanaman ako from the start na walang tulog? Ang sarap na ng tulog ko. Ganun ‘yung iniisip ko,” Kryz said.

“But I know at the same time, 100% that if that test was negative, I would have felt so bad.” Kryz’s honesty about her mixed feelings toward her unexpected pregnancy feels validating for any woman who’s felt the same. It also serves as an explanation to others who think any emotion but 100% excitement is unacceptable from mothers. Moms are allowed to have a mix of feelings about pregnancy and having kids, and they can still be good moms.

Slater shows support as he asked his wife to unpack her feelings, recognizing that what a woman goes through when the family grows is very different from a man’s experience. First, she bears the brunt of all the physical changes that leaves a permanent effect on her body. Second, especially for the Skyfam’s current setup, Kryz is the parent who spends more time at home with their kids.

Baby girl or baby boy for Skyfam?

Kryz and Slater also shared their thoughts on their third baby’s sex. “Honestly, I want a a girl only because all of the people I’ve spoken to above 60 always tell me, ‘Iba talaga mag-mahal yung babae sa parents nila’,” said Kryz. Her second reason is because she wants to see her husband Slater be a girl dad.

But Kryz is also happy being a boy mom, “It’s really the best. They love me so much.” Slater has similar feelings as his wife, trying to imagine the possibility of Kryz having a mommy-daughter kikay or salon date in the future if their third baby is a girl.

Surely, no matter baby’s sex, Skyfam–especially Scottie–will be happy when their third baby arrives. Congrats, Kryz and Slater!
