Remembering Nora Aunor
Born Nora Cabaltera Villamayor, she rose from selling water by the train tracks in Iriga City to becoming a leading figure in Philippine cinema.
To the nation, she was the "Superstar." But for those who knew her—her children, colleagues, and solid fans—it was her humanity that stood out the most.
More than an actress, Nora Aunor was a national treasure. In 2022, she was officially recognized as such, named National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts. Her five-decade career gave life to unforgettable roles in films like Himala, Bona, and Minsa'y Isang Gamu-Gamo, while her voice brought to life classics like Pearly Shells and Tiny Bubbles.
Nora Aunor is survived by her five children: Ian, Lotlot, Matet, Kiko, and Kenneth de Leon.
