Peppa Pig and Her Family Welcome Baby Evie to the World

Peppa Pig and her little brother George have officially become older siblings!

In a joyful announcement shared on Peppa Pig's official Instagram, a town crier shouts, "Peppa and George have a baby sister!"

Mummy Pig's birth came just three months after she revealed in February that their family was growing.

The newest member of the Pig family, baby Evie, was born on Tuesday, May 20, at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital—the same London hospital where Kate Middleton delivered her three children.

Fans can find new photos uploaded on Peppa Pig's official Facebook page. In one of the pictures, Mummy Pig is resting in a hospital bed while Peppa holds baby Evie, and Daddy Pig and George stand beside them, beaming at their new addition.

Mummy Pig on Welcoming Baby Evie and the Family's First Moments Together

Speaking to PEOPLE, Mummy Pig shared how special the arrival has been for their family. "I'm so thrilled Evie is finally here, happy and healthy! I won't say it was an easy birth, because I'm not sure such a thing exists—oink! But it was all worth it once she was snug and safe in my arms, and the family got to meet her properly," she said.

Since returning home, Mummy Pig has loved watching Peppa and George bond with their sister.

"It's been an adventure already! She's just as curious and excitable as Peppa, and as playful and funny as George," she said. "They're already quite the little trio. Just like Peppa, Evie loves music—no matter what is playing, she'll jiggle and giggle along."

Mummy Pig revealed that choosing a name took longer than they expected, but they eventually found the perfect one.

"For a while, it seemed like we might just call her 'Baby' forever! Oink!" said Mummy Pig. "But Evie is a perfect fit. It was the name of my Great Aunt, and our little one's eyes just lit up when we first suggested it, like she knew it was her name already."

Welcoming a new baby into the family is always a big change, and Mummy Pig admitted there have been a few "wobbles" as they navigate this new chapter.

"There's been some wobbles here and there—sometimes, it can be tricky for little ones to understand that babies need a lot of Mummy and Daddy's time and attention," explained Mummy Pig.

"However, we do our best to make sure each little one feels loved and seen, even involving them in all things Evie-related...which is usually a lot, until it's time for a nappy change!"

Luckily, Mummy and Daddy Pig have been able to rely on their close-knit family and friends for support.

"More chaos, more laughs, more nappies and more...everything! But we are so lucky to have a wonderful network of family and friends to help us," she shared.

"It's always amazing to get to see all their 'firsts' as babies, isn't it?" said Mummy Pig, who's excited to experience them all as a family of five. "Their first laughs, first bedtime stories, first baths...They're all a gift, and they only happen once, so I'm excited for all of it, and I know Peppa is too!"

Fans will get to meet baby Evie in Peppa Pig Meets the Baby, a special cinema event debuting Friday, May 30. The feature will include ten new episodes and six original songs, running through Sunday, June 1 in select theaters.
