Still bringing her Pinoy Pride, Tricia wore a Philippine-themed sash during the Master of Medical Sciences in Global Health Delivery Graduation Luncheon.

Tricia’s community-first mission

Tricia 's journey at Harvard was marked by her commitment to addressing health inequities in the Philippines. Her thesis, titled "Understanding the Factors Associated with Nutritional Outcomes Among Children Under Five Years Old in Negros Occidental, Philippines," reflects her dedication to improving public health in underserved communities.

Tricia's work involved extensive field research and collaboration with local health workers, including Barangay Nutrition Scholars. In her page at the Harvard Medical School website, Tricia shared photos from her research that focused on identifying the most malnourished children and implementing nutrition programs to improve their health outcomes. Her efforts highlight the importance of community-led initiatives and the impact of grassroots health interventions.

Tricia’s Journey to Harvard

Tricia's path to Harvard was marked by hard work, resilience, and a clear vision of her goals. After graduating with a dual degree in Doctor of Medicine and Master of Business Administration from the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health, Tricia passed the licensure examinations for doctors in November 2020. 

But Tricia's path to Harvard was not without its challenges. After passing the medical board exams, she had to postpone her residency program twice due to the pandemic and her mother's presidential campaign. Despite these setbacks, Tricia remained committed to her goal of furthering her education and making a difference in global health.

Tricia's aspiration to attend Harvard was always a dream, but she did not let it dictate her life's course. In a Reddit discussion, she shared, "I've always dreamt of Harvard, but I didn't design my life around it. Mindset ko noon, I will work hard. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, maybe it was never for me." For Tricia it was about focusing on hard work and letting opportunities unfold naturally.
