Saab Magalona just shared a moment to her followers that feels nothing short of a miracle. In her latest Instagram Reel, we see her son Pancho beaming with joy as he takes steps with the help of a walker, standing on his own two legs.

"I can't believe we're here," Saab wrote in the video, showing Pancho using a walker, a mobility aid that helps him practice walking with support and balance.

"Seven years after we were told he wouldn't last the night. After we were told he would most likely never be able to move. After we were told he was probably blind," she added, reflecting on their journey.

Saab's eldest, Pancho, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy about a week after he was born. Saab and her husband, Jim Bacarro, have been open about Pancho's journey, sharing the struggles and milestones of raising their son on their social media channels.

Despite the many challenges, Saab emphasized that love was their constant. "The brain scans we did gave us very little hope, but we always had love," she shared. "And that love continues to grow with each day we spend with him."

For the mom of two, the focus has always been on raising kids who feel loved. "The goal was never to have a perfect child. The goal has always been to raise a child who feels deeply loved."

Pancho's Speech Improvement

Pancho has shown remarkable progress over time, achieving milestones that once seemed difficult. Saab shared that he can now identify parts of his body, follow instructions like "hands up" and "hold," and even pull himself up to stand. In 2023, he reached another major milestone by starting regular school.

By November last year, Saab proudly shared an update on his growing speech abilities, marking yet another step forward in his journey.

"Pancho has been saying more and more words," Saab proudly shared. "Lately, he has been saying his name."

The podcaster added that Pancho has started forming short sentences. "He's even saying two to three-word sentences—will try to catch those on video too," she said.

Saab also shared a glimpse into Pancho's close bond with his younger brother, Vito. "He's been calling his brother 'Buhn,' short for Bunny," Saab said. "It's always the first thing he says when he gets home because he wants to see his bro."

Thanks to his speech progress, Saab believes Pancho's connection with their family has deepened. "His relationship with our family has been growing deeper now that he’s able to communicate better than ever," Saab mentioned.

Great job, Pancho!
