Starting today, December 27, mobile phone users in the Philippines may register their SIM cards online to either activate a new SIM or avoid deactivating an existing SIM.
This is in line with the implementation of the SIM Registration Law, which aims to help curb text scams and other mobile phone-aided crimes in the country.

How To Register My SIM
Under the law, all new SIM card holders must register their SIM cards with their respective telcos as a prerequisite for card activation.

You must submit a valid identification document and proof that you are the one who accomplished the registration form.
You will be asked to provide the following information:
- Full name
- Birthday
- Sex
- Address
- Identification card
- ID number
You will also be asked to submit a valid identification card and a proof that you are the one who accomplished the form. Here are the valid IDs accepted:
- Passport
- Philippine ID
- SSS ID
- GSIS e-Card
- Driver's License
- NBI Clearance
- Police Clearance
- Firearms' license to own and possess ID
- PRC ID
- IBP ID
- OWWA ID
- BIR ID
- Voter's ID
- Senior Citizen's Card
- UMID Card
- PWD Card
- Other government-issued ID with photo
How Do I Register My Child's SIM Card?
For minors, the SIM registration will be under the name of the minor's parent or guardian. They will be required to present an ID as well as the consent of the minor's parent or guardian to register the SIM.

What Should I Do If I Cannot Access The Registration Link
Should you encounter technical difficulties in accessing the websites mentioned above, you may try again at a later time.
Existing SIM card holders are required to register their SIM cards within 180 days or until April 26, 2023.
Registration may be extended up to 120 days, according to the Philippine Information Agency.
Failure to do so will authorize the telco to automatic deactivation of the SIM.
