Smart Parenting Goes To Cebu: Community Meetup, Influencer Search

For more than 20 years, Smart Parenting has brought expert tips, relatable stories, and sound advice to parents from all walks of life, in every season of parenting. The Smart Parenting Village is a safe space for parents, an online village ready to answer any parenting, marriage, or relationship questions, or even give a simple pat on the back saying to one another, ‘You got this’. 

This 2024, Smart Parenting brought its renowned parenting expertise closer to the parents based in the Queen City of the South, Cebu City, powered by Enfagrow A+. 

Although we are connected virtually through social media and the internet, nothing beats the warmth of face-to-face meet-ups and heart-to-heart talks. Smart Parenting brought this to Cebu City to personally meet Cebuano parents and find out what’s going on in the local parenting community. 

Smart Parenting Village Meet-Up: Smart Parenting Cafe

The Smart Parenting Team, led by Deputy Publisher Iza Santos-Cuyos and Editor-in-Chief Ronna Capili Bonifacio, met with Cebuano parents at Solea Resort Mactan on August 2. The serenity and relaxing ambiance of Solea Resort Mactan added a special warmth to the village meet-up. It was an afternoon full of greetings over cups of coffee and delicious afternoon snacks. There were fun games, raffles, and prizes, making the event more exciting. Cebu parents were enthusiastic—Smart Parenting Village transformed the virtual village to a face-to-face meet-up!

Smart Parenting Cafe's previous meetups were with parents of Acropolis with a Halloween party, a focus group discussion on diapers in Makati, and skincare with moms in BGC. The Smart Parenting Cafe Village Meet-Up in Cebu is the first get together outside of Metro Manila.

In Cebu City, parents answered an audience survey which aims to understand what is important for Cebuano parents, values, and preferred parenting strategies. The event sought the heart of Cebuano parents to become a better parenting partner and to curate more relevant parenting stories.  

Smart Parenting Squad Regional Search

Another highlight in Cebu City was the Smart Parenting Squad Search. Smart Parenting Squad was launched in 2022 and since then, parent content creators and influencers have continued to share Smart Parenting’s values of empowerment, community, and inclusivity. The squad is compromised of both Moms and Dads, with different advocacies and perspectives, working towards healthier and better parenting.

The Smart Parenting Squad Search in Cebu gathered a number of aspiring squad members. It was the first regional squad search and was also held at Solea Mactan Resort. Cebuano content creators and influencers came together and shared what they value most as parents and content creators.

As Smart Parenting Editor-in-Chief Ronna Bonifacio said, “At Smart Parenting, we've always believed that it takes a village to raise a child. Through the years of Smart Parenting Squad's success, Filipino parents have found a beloved extension of their village through these inspiring and empowering content-creator parents who share with them in their highs and lows.

"We have all become neighbors, if only online, and we gladly share this parenting journey with each other,” she added.
