'High Quality Yet Affordable' EQ Pants Is Smart Parenting Mom-Approved

A Smart Parenting afternoon filled with coffee, pastries, and conversations about diapers—that’s what happened last March 19 at Candid Coffee, Makati at Smart Parenting Cafe's 'Let's Talk About Your Nappy Diaries', presented by EQ Pants.

The one-of-a-kind event specially made for members of Smart Parenting Village, an online community of over 100,000 Filipino parents, was an afternoon of treats, mommy bonding, and a productive discussion on diapers. Who else can talk about diapers, pants, and potties endlessly other than moms?

'Let's Talk About Your Nappy Diaries' aimed to learn about the firsthand experience of moms and babies who use EQ Pants. 

Twenty mom participants took part in the event. The focus group discussions delved into the mom's feedback around EQ Pants' product claims after using the product for one week on their kids. Discussions revolved around these six criteria: ease of use, absorbency, dryness, comfort, fit, and affordability. These were the profiles of the mom participants:

• Jessica Baccay, child started using EQ pants as a newborn
• Arlene Dob, child started using EQ pants at 2 years old
• Jeelaine Ubaldo, child started using EQ pants at 8 months old
• Francheska Lapinig, child started using EQ pants at 4 months old
• Joyce Aldea, child started using EQ pants at 1 year old
• Roneline Eufracio, child started using EQ pants at 9 months old
• Christine Gregorio, child started using EQ pants at 10 months old
• Joan Nonato, child started using EQ pants at 6 months old
• Lyka Mae Alob-Torres, child started using EQ pants at 5 months old
• Jessa Jean Villaseñor, child started using EQ pants at 1 year old
• Pauline Lloyd Doroteo, child started using EQ pants at 6 months old
• Kathleen Vinoya, child started using EQ pants at 8 months old
• Jasmin Bruno, child started using EQ pants at 10 months old
• Maria Jennelyn Capya-ao, child started using EQ pants at 8 months old
• Ma. Victoria Sy, child started using EQ pants at 8 months old
• Mara Raymundo, child started using EQ pants at 3 months old
• Shela Joy Sacro, child started using EQ pants as a newborn
• Regina Lyn Singian, child started using EQ pants as 5 month old

Participants were in different stages of motherhood: some were first-time moms, some were toddler moms, and some were moms to multiple kids. Each shared their concerns and past experiences with diapers, from switching diapers due to rashes to experiencing nighttime leaks, to having problems with diapers that are difficult to put on an active toddler.

The event had two segments, the first was the focus group discussion on EQ Pants, and the second was a talk by Smart Parenting Editor-in-Chief Ronna Capili Bonifacio on budget-friendly bonding ideas with your toddler that also boosts child development.

Candid Coffee welcomed Smart Parenting Cafe and EQ Pants on a Tuesday afternoon and over coffee and pastries, moms exchanged stories of young parenthood, its challenges, and its light moments.

Love Cosio, wife, stay-at-home mom of two, and Smart Parenting Mom Squad moderated the event. She kicked off with an ice-breaker before delving into the heart of the discussion. Everyone enjoyed making new mom friends and also sneaking in a bit of me-time.

Mom feedback: Diaper pants with great features

As per their experience with EQ Pants, mom participants discussed the diaper's packaging and labels, design, and whether it can be easily worn and removed with an active baby.

Moms also talked about the comfort and fit of EQ Pants with their babies, considering their differing ages, the baby’s size, and the baby’s activities. One of the main concerns for moms, baby’s rashes with diapers, was also discussed.

“Ang smart ng packaging ng EQ, it is designed with practicality in mind. Very sleek, slim packaging, which prefer ko talaga, hindi hassle dalhin whenever we go. It is easy to open. Another aspect I appreciate is the branding and product information, clear and easy to read,” said Angela May Perez.

The diaper's fit was a notable favorite feature from the mom participants. "This is my top priority, the comfort and fit. Remarkable 'yung softness ng material ng EQ, I can say na well protected ang delicate skin ni baby," said Christine Gregorio. "Very cozy and comfortable during naptime, playtime and bedtime. The best 'yung fit dahil sa elastic waistband. Kaninang morning, si husband ang nag-change ng diaper ni baby, and he was really surprised kasi ang daming poo ni baby, but no leaks at all.”

Jessa Baccay agreed that the fit is very good. She said, “Fit sa baby ko, hindi siya bulky tignan kapag may brief na suot. Saktong-sakto ang fit ng EQ Pants para sa edad/weight, komportable na nakakagalaw si baby—fits perfectly.”

“The fit is designed perfectly. Kahit payat ang baby ko, hindi siya alanganin. Hindi rin madali masira ang garter while wearing and tearing after use,” said Victoria Sy.

The verdict: High quality yet affordable

"Pinaka gusto ko na hindi nagka-rashes ang bum-bum ni baby even if suot niya ang EQ Pants for more than 12 hours. Super absorbent talaga and as a pants diaper, gusto ko yung hindi bumakat yung waist band," said Angela.

15 of the 20 participants said a diaper's features, including absorbency, ease of use, comfort, and dryness were their top considerations when buying diapers. 16 of 20 consider themselves to be meticulous diaper shoppers.

14 rated EQ Pants Diapers packaging with a 5, out of a point system with 5 as the highest score. Kathleen Vinoya mentioned, “Manipis siya, eco-friendly”. She added, “it’s handy, madali bitbitin even 'yung panganay ko pwede niya mabitbit.”

Francheska Lapinig said, “From my second to my third child, EQ Pants na gamit ko and I like how it absorbs and never din sila nag-rashes. Plus, affordable naman ang price niya.”

“High quality yet affordable talaga siya. Simula eldest child ko up to now na
may one year old baby uli ako, EQ Pants ang gamit namin. Hindi na ako nag-hanap ng ibang brand dahil satisfied ako sa quality ng EQ Pants,” said Victoria.

All 20 moms said EQ Pants are easy to wear and remove, and that they would recommend it to other moms.
