This year, Solenn Heussaff received a Mother's Day gift she won't forget (and it didn't come with a bow)! While most moms enjoyed flowers, chocolates, or a peaceful brunch, Solenn got a black eye from an accidental head-butt by her younger daughter, Maelys.

It didn't happen during a wild toddler tantrum or a playtime mishap, either. In fact, the unexpected "gift" came while they were both peacefully sleeping, proving once again that motherhood always keeps you on your toes—even in your sleep.

On May 13, Solenn shared an Instagram Story revealing the purple bruise around her eye and explaining how it happened, all with her usual sense of humor.

"To those asking, no biggie. This was a Mother's Day gift from Maelys. Haha," she wrote, adding, "Accident head-butt while sleeping."

Of course, Solenn wasn't about to let a black eye ruin her day. She quipped, "Next time I'll sleep with a helmet lol."

A few days later, as the bruise began to heal, Solenn shared an update showing how her makeup artist worked some magic to cover it up and get her camera-ready for a shoot.

"There we go. That looks better," she said in the video, making it clear that no black eye was too much of a challenge for her to handle.

While Solenn's Mother's Day wasn't what she had expected, she still made the most of it with her family. Rather than a big celebration, she spent the day at home with her husband, Nico Bolzico, and their two daughters, Thylane and Maelys, along with some close friends.

The couple, who married in 2016, welcomed Thylane in January 2020 and Maelys in December 2022.

What happened may have been unfortunate, but Solenn had many moms online laughing and relating to her story. Her candid post was a reminder that motherhood isn't always picture-perfect, it's crazy but still fun.
