    What new moms really need

The first few days post-delivery can be some of the most challenging, especially for new moms such as Shin Hye. While baby showers often focus on showering gifts for the coming baby, new moms could also use the showering.

Here are a few food-related things you might want to get a new mom, or make sure you have if you’re just about to become one yourself.

    1. Home-cooked meals

New moms will not have the energy to whip up a delicious meal, but their bodies badly need it. Offer to send her some home-cooked meals especially if she doesn’t have extra hands to help out at home.

    2. A large water jug

Moms working on their milk supply will constantly be told to keep themselves hydrated so they can create more milk. Having a jug of water within reach wherever she finds herself at home will be one of the most useful things, particularly during the first few days post-delivery.

    3. Healthy snacks

Ever heard of the insatiable appetite once a mom begins to breastfeed? It’s not a joke, breastfeeding moms get hungry so quickly because their bodies keep producing sustenance for another body.

Moms likely won’t have the energy to prepare anything for themselves even when they do feel hungry. Having healthy snacks they can eat any time–day or night because yes, the hunger happens in the middle of the night too–is helpful.

Buying a few items from the grocery might not be the most glamorous gift, such as ingredients for a quick sandwich, but a hungry new mom will be sure to choose a stocked pantry than a balloon arrangement.
