Known as the Fort McKinley military base in 1902, Bonifacio Global City (BGC) came into being when the Ayala Land and Evergreen Holdings entered a partnership with Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) in 2003. BCDA and the two companies now manage Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation, which oversees the master planning of Bonifacio Global City.

International School Manila

Founded in 1920, International School Manila (ISM) is the oldest international school in Manila. It was known as the American School Inc, when a group of American and British parents living in Manila established this educational facility and opened its doors on June 21, 1920. The school was then situated at 606 Taft Avenue, a loaned church building at the time, with eight teachers and fifty students. Fast forward to 1952, the American School became the first private school outside of the United States to be listed in Porter Sargent's Handbook of Private Schools.

In the 1960s, the school moved to Bel Air before it finally reached its BGC campus in 2002.

ISM is the first in Asia to introduce the IB Diploma program. The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a global leader in international education, focused on developing inquiring, knowledgeable, confident, and compassionate young individuals. British School Manila

The British School Manila (BSM) was founded in 1976 at the old Union Church with just 36 students. In the 1980s, BSM transferred to Merville, Paranaque. In 1999, the Royal Princess Anne visited BSM. Many years later, BSM held the BGC campus inauguration in 2002.

BSM became the first in the Philippines to be accredited by the Council of International Schools. BSM is also authorized to offer the IB program. Over nearly five decades, it has grown and evolved into the institution it is today.

BSM is considered as the only non-profit international school in Manila offering a British education for students from Nursery (age 3) up to Year 13 (age 18). Each year its welcomes more than 950 students, of more than 50 nationalities.

According to its wwebsite, BSM students consistently achieve high academic results, outperforming many schools in the UK and other international schools in the Philippines and Asia. Typically, students at BSM take the IGCSEs, GCSEs, and the International Baccalaureate, either pursuing the full Diploma or specific Certificates.
