A dad shared on Facebook a photo of a card lovingly handwritten by his 7-year-old daughter for their practice teacher, whose internship hours were about to end soon.
However, instead of saying 'Happy Last Day in School,' his daughter wrote, 'Happy Last Day Of Your Life,' which left him in stitches.
7-year-old's card for teacher draws laughs from netizens
Dad of three Chino Sidora from Tarlac City told Smart Parenting the story behind the post, that has garnered over 22k reactions from netizens, and shared over 9k times.
"It was Friday morning around 5, I was preparing for my family's breakfast and lunch meals when my daughter Chiara asked me if there's something wrong with the DIY card she made for their student teacher, as it was their last day of internship in their school," Chino said.
According to him, his daughter loves making do-it-yourself (DIY) stuff like greeting cards, bracelets, and necklaces whenever there's something to celebrate. "In some events, she would make "get well soon" or "I'm sorry" cards as well," he added.
"Anyway, when she showed me the card I wasn't able to hold it. I laughed hard as she was wondering why. She usually asks me for grammar or spelling check and she probably thought why was it different that time because even her older brother was laughing too, to whom she showed the card first."

Chino then explained to his daughter what she wrote in the card, and all she said was "Whaaaaat?"
He then asked her to change it to "last day in school," and all is well in the world.
Yes, the trending card didn't reach Chiara's teacher! She was able to make a new card, thanks to dad.
Chino also shared the contents of the card for those who were asking.
Chino said he thought it was funny to share it on Facebook as he usually shares stuff that brings good vibes to his friends. "I didn't expect the post would be viral though my wife did think about it. If I remember correctly, in just a few minutes, a lot of my friends "Haha'd" the post," he said.
As Chino found the situation a teaching moment for him and his child, it highlights the importance of our role as parents, in guiding our kids in the small and great things in life.
Importance of having an open communication with kids
Even at age 7, they can commit these cute and innocent blunders, and while some may be charming and funny, we hope it's not taken out of context.
When this happens, it's essential to approach the situation with sensitivity, and help our kids understand in a way that is appropriate for their age.
For Chino, it taught him the importance of having an open communication with his kids.

"Let's tell our children to always ask us for guidance with everything they do or are planning to do, even small things. I'm not a perfect dad because I am, sometimes, cranky when my children ask a lot of questions and favors. But I try my very best to accommodate their questions even some that don't make any sense."
On a more serious note, he added, "Maybe I am just overthinking, but what if that teacher intern isn't well and the 'unedited' card made her decide to do something that couldn't be taken back?"
