Andi Eigenmann, her fiancé Philmar Alipayo, and their children Lilo and Koa have returned to their home base in Siargao Island. It's been almost four months since Typhoon Odette ravaged Siargao, the neighboring islands, and all the way to Cebu, Bohol, Leyte, and even Palawan.
The Happy Islands, as Andi calls her family and their vlog (their latest is about their soon-to-open surfing school and snack bar), are back to their element and regular life. Lilo, for one, has resumed learning how to swim and surf with her dad, a Siargao native and surfing champion.
Andi said in her latest Instagram post, showing the 2-year-old Lilo on a surf board and watching over, "I find that a great way for little ones to learn a new skill, is simply by letting them have a go at it!"
She added, "Trust them as they explore their capabilities and support them as they push themselves to try. Lilo has been leveling up on her swimming skills by the day, and I see that it's having playmates around and being able to do fun activities in the water that motivate her to do so. Like surfing!
"It doesn't matter if they eventually opt to explore different things as they get older. That's what makes life more enjoyable afterall. But what a simple joy it is to see them love the life we are able to offer them. Not by force, but by nature."
In an earlier post, Andi noted the developing sense of style of Lilo, who comes after her panganay Ellie, 10, and after their only boy Koa, 1.
The actress said of Lilo, "She's been picking out this swimsuit for our surf sessions lately. No surprise she was keen on posing for a pic in this outfit. Love dressing my kids up but also love to see them grow into having their own sense of style and clothing preferences.
"Although I didn't expect my athletic Lilo to lean more towards the dresses and sun hat aesthetic. Not a bad thing at all. Break barriers my girl!"
