“Ang hirap maging magulang,” Bianca Gonzalez, host and mom of two girls, writes in her May 11, 2022 Instagram post.
It is her first Instagram post since the 2022 presidential elections.
Bianca Gonzalez and her husband JC Intal publicly supported Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan during their recent campaign for the presidential and vice-presidential seats accordingly.
Much like many parents of young children who supported the said candidates, Bianca is in a reflective state likely based on the unofficial tally that reveals Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as the clear winner.

Bianca has shared in previous posts that she and her husband have not always voted the same in the past elections, which she credits to the nature of a democracy.
But in the recent 2022 elections, the Intals decided on the same candidate. They even joined the house-to-house campaign efforts of the Robredo-Pangilinan tandem.
She writes that she is proud of their vote that is for their daughters, Carmen and Lucia.

Bianca goes on to talk about responsibility as Filipino citizens and helping kids face realities that disappointments are a natural part of life.

Bianca is aware of their status in life, calling it “comfortable”. But her posts reveals that she wants to continue to teach her daughters that what privilege means is having the responsibility to help others.
Walang sagot
She finally ends her post by sharing at she has no answers just yet, only questions. But as a parent, her role is to continue to raise them as responsible Filipino citizens.
Tips for teaching kids about disinformation
BBC Bitesize gives these five points to help kids identify whether news online is true or fake. You can go through this with your kids.
1. Story
What is it trying to say? Can it be seen in other trustworthy sources?
2. Emotions
How does the story make you feel? Fake news tries to manipulate people’s feelings to get a click. Pause before sharing! Maybe it’s a joke.
3. Picture
Is it a fake photo or out of context? You can use a reverse image search to verify where photos are from.
4. Author
Check the URL. Those that end with “.com”, “.com.ph", “.net”, “.gov”, “.org”, and “.edu” are most trusted. Does the news quote experts or any names?
5. Shares
Even if it’s share by a famous person or someone you know, it doesn’t mean it is correct.
