Georgina Wilson Isn't Worried If Kids Make Mistakes, 'The More, The Better!' Here's Why

Georgina Wilson can't say motherhood is more fulfilling than her years as a single woman because to her, every stage in life is fulfillingin a different way. During the recent Promil 'Gifted Together' event, the entrepreneur and mom of three says she doesn't take her mom-fluencer statuslightly because she understands she's influencing choices that affect lives of children.

Her take on parenting her children with husband Arthur Burnand is filled with lessons that can be applied at home, from how she injects learning opportunities in their every day to being unbothered when her children commit mistakes.

Make as many mistakes as possible 

Georgina reveals that her kids Archie, 6 years old, Alfie, 3 years old, and Charlotte, one year old, are not aware of mum’s celebrity status. They are more familiar with her work as an entrepreneur but are used to people knowing her when their family is in the Philippines.  

Despite having a full schedule, she makes sure to clock in time with her kids too, bringing them to work whenever possible and turning errands into little adventures. She tells them “Let’s go on an adventure!” when she needs to do a grocery run “so nagiging adventure siya. Even if it’s just a chore.”  

She tries to maximize every opportunity and turns it into a learning experience, because Georgina believes kids are always learning. “I just try to give them the most stimulation that I can. 

And learning, according to Georgina, happens even in negative experiences such as mistakes. “I’m not worried about them making mistakes. I actually think the more [mistakes] the better, now, while no one is watching also. I think it’s what you do after [that’s important]. 

Currently she’s helping one of her kids how to deal with negative experiences. “My one child gets really frustrated if it doesn’t go his way. And talagang sore loser siya, at the moment. But we’re working on it.”

Motherhood is just a new facet

Is motherhood more fulfilling than her party girl years? “Every stage in life is fulfilling in a different way. I can’t say it’s more fulfilling, it’s amazing. I can’t remember the past life nga. It’s just so incredible, she said.  

“It’s a really cool journey. I really believe that each child is a gift. I’m just really happy about my gifts.” 

Georgina said at the event held on January 26, 2023 that she couldn't help but marvel at the parenting advice Dr. Ryan Carvalho, one ofthe experts at the event gave because he had put it so simply.

Dr. Carvalho, Chief Medical Officer & Global Head of Nutrition Product Development Center said his top parenting advice is to love your child. "The answer I give to almost every parent is to love your child. Because if you love your child, you will play with them, you'll spendtime with them, you'll support them, encourage them, hug them, feed them the right nutrition, tickle them, all those good things thatwe know are so important for brain maturation and child health in general, he said.

"It sounds cliche, but just love your child. Do that and you're 90% of the way there." And it seems that for Georgina, it's why she helps her children to grow through making mistakes and providing brain stimulation.
