On June 20, his mother, veteran actress Coney Reyes, finally shared photos of their celebration at home.
She also wrote a short but meaningful message to her son, who turned 33.
"#latepost Happy Birthday, Vico!!! (June 17) I pray that God bless your year(s) ahead even more! May He keep you in the center of His will and grant you the desires of your heart. I love you, son!"
A netizen said in the comment section, "Parang di ka masaya sa cake, di po ba 10/10? Haha!" pertaining to Vico's recent stint as a "food vlogger."

'How To Raise A Son Like Vico?'
In the Smart Parenting Village, a mom posted saying that she wants to ask Coney about her parenting style so she can raise a child who is like Vico Sotto.
The post, which received almost a thousand reactions from parents in March 2020, got the moms sharing what they think Coney is doing right in raising Vico.
The moms agreed that Coney's strong devotion to her faith, is part of what made Vico the respectable man he is today.
Smart Parenting reached out to the mom two years after, and she shares, Coney and Vico's example inspires her to raise her kids to be good people.
"May 2 kids po ako, 5 years old and 2 years old.
For Vic Sotto, Vico's father, he once said that raising kids who are kind and respectful relies on the closeness of the child's relationship with his parents.

It doesn’t have to be expensive, pwede namang naglalaro lang kayo ng 123 Pass [card game] and as far as relationships are concerned, yung pamilya I think ang susi pa rin [nasa] sa father and the nanay. Yung mag-asawa pa rin. Sila ang maga-guide ng family.”
Angelica, who is a registered nurse, hopes that she can instill good values to her kids as young as they are.

Values are learned at home
In a 2020 experiment by psychologist Sara Valencia Botto, she found that toddlers pick up values through subtle behavior even as early as 14 months old.
"Adults and children are incredibly effective at picking up values from these subtle behaviors. And in turn, this ends up shaping their own behavior, she said in her TED Talk.
This is affirmed by education professionals, where Division superintendent Dr. Florante Vergara of DepEd Santiago City in Isabela said previously that teachers only reinforce the education that children receive at home from their parents.
Here's what parents can start doing at home that their kids can learn from:ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW1. Teach them the magic words
Dr. Vergara agrees to this, and adds, "It's also at home that children learn to be honest, to be on time, diligent, show friends their sympathy, as well as show utmost respect for their elders and all teachers."
2. Show your kids how you handle emotions
Sometimes, letting your child see that you are upset can be a good thing. After all, toddlers need to learn how to manage their emotions. Seeing you cry makes them realize that it's okay not to be okay all the time. Therefore, it is also important for them to see how you will handle your emotions.
Your kids need to see you solve your problems and to see you pick yourself up. This can teach them the values of grit and reslience, which are important growing up.
3. Let your kids see you express love to your partner
Showing your kids that you love your partner does wonders. Education consultant Chary Mercado said in a previous article, "Your sons will learn how to be attentive gentlemen to the ladies they set their hearts on; and your daughters will learn that they should expect nothing less from their suitors. They will also learn how to show appreciation for people they love."
4. Show respect and kindness to others
Educator Editha Buluran opines, “If you treat your child with respect, he will treat you with the same amount of respect—or more.”
Mommy Yams Verzosa shared in a previous article how she teaches her son to respect others, no matter what gender they are in. "We try to make him understand that women and men are equal. We try to make him realize women should be treated properly and with kindness and respect."
5. Value yourself
When your kids see you taking care of your needs - whether physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual - even just by seeing you do your skin care, they will follow your lead and take care of themselves as well.
6. Teach kids how to pray
For her kids to grow up with devotion and faith, just like Coney, Mommy Angelica said, "Tinuturan ko po silang unawain ang pagdadasal para makapagpasalamat sa Diyos sa lahat ng biyayang natatanggap namin.
